Nice write up. I'm lucky that my Dad is a painter and has all the stuff needed for painting at his house. Tons of 3M and PPG stuff.

Did you get your color match paint from automotive touchup? I'm about to paint a shell I picked up for my 98, hoping the color match comes out pretty close.

You guys have got some painting skills. In the 5 years with my Tacoma, I had 3 different craigslist caps. All different colors. None the same color as my truck :D

Thanks, the urethane was not mentioned so I suspected the high gloss was what everyone was using.

The link is working for me, does it still not work for you?

I've used spraymax clear in the past with very good results. Because it's a 2K reactive paint, there's a button on the bottom that you push and it dispenses the hardener into the paint. You have about a 24hr pot life. I prefer 2 part (2K) paint and clear whenever possible as it is much more solvent resistant than the 1k material. However, each will do just fine if you understand the limitations of the product.
