image.jpg First and only vehicle I've ever bought brand new. Purchased in Aug 2000. Was a leftover 2000, 2001's already out, but didn't like the front grill on the 2001's as much. Kept stock until 2015, when put on the wheels, and 2016, when added the bed bars. Almost at 237k mi's (and that doesn't count the hours I've sat and idled at jobs since the beginning of ownership) and everything original except auto trans rebuilt at appx 150k.
Always loved the Back to the Future truck (my favorite vehicle of all time), and really regret not buying one. But now that I have 2 Mustangs in addition to this Tacoma, I came to the realization I'd never sell the wife on a 4th vehicle, so I decided to create it out of my Tac. If I can somehow get the front and rear bumpers, I'd say I'm about as spot-on as I can get.

Finally got my childhood dream car, and the “grandfather” to my 2000 Toyota Tacoma, a 1985 Toyota 4x4 Xtra Cab. 85k original miles! Drives great. Unfortunately, it’s an automatic. However, for this vintage, that makes it that much more rare. Even came with the “Another Custom 4x4 for Statler Toyota” banner.

Loved that truck too. Sweet rides especially the 85! Now just mock up a hoverboard and stick it in the bed =)

That truck is tops on my childhood wish list. Then comes the A-team van, KITT, and the Countach on my bedroom wall..

Since seeing BttF as a kid, I wanted Marty’s truck! Later in life I became a Mustang fan. So, after adding a ‘67 fastback and an ‘11 Shelby, I determined I’d never talk the wife into allowing me a 4th vehicle. So I began making my cherished daily driver, owned-from-new, 2000 TRD Tacoma into as close a replica to the BttF truck as I possibly could.
A friend saw the ‘85 BttF truck in CL, and it was within a few miles from my house! Since I’d never seen one in person, I had to go look. I instantly fell for it. So made things work, and acquired it immediately. The owner was a BttF super-fan who owns a few car dealerships, had too many cars of his own, and was making room for his DeLorean that was currently getting all the BttF accoutrements added. He spared no expense, finding a low-mile cream-puff that was torn down and made into the BttF replica. It’s even got a “working” flux capacitor.
The funny and ironic thing about the whole deal, was that I went to see it on Oct 25 (the date Marty saw the truck in the beginning of the movie), and just by chance, couldn’t complete the deal and pick it up until Oct 26 (the date Marty is given his truck by his parents at the end). It was my density...I mean, my destiny.
