I was concidering going with a 18" wheel but then I would have to get a 18" spare what do most people do about this when stock is 17"

What size tire? That has more meaning than wheel size.

A 33" tire won't fit under the truck without modification.

Truck was designed for 30-31" spare.

I think you are going to want to get the same sized tires as the rest, in case you need to use it in the rear. If you don't you could do damage to the rear diff.

So that is a 32" tire generally. Each tire model varies though. It might or might not fit. Would be close.

Worst case ask the tire shop if they have your tire in stock. Have them drop your spare and see if the tire fits up into the spare tire brackets before you buy.

It isnt the wheel that's the issue. It's the tire. In theory a 20" wheel with a super low profile tire could fit.

I went with 18" rims but the tire is the same overall diameter as the factory tire. So i can use the factory spare in an emergency.

ok so if I got 18's aftermarket rims with 275/65/18 tire, my spare would work if it was 265/70/17 or 265/75/17? wondering if the 70 or 75 height would compensate for the 18's rims

For spare purposes I'd get the size that's cheapest. 255/75/17, 265/70/17, 275/70/17 would all work.

The same shit everyone else has.
A 275/70/17 should be the closest match

Manufacture's numbers may not be exactly the same, so double check between sizes.
