I'm looking for a more controlled, but well-damped ride quality (my favorite ride quality was in my old 2010 Audi S4--it was flat in the corners but went over bumps with magically relative comfort (not too stiff)). Definitely not looking for the stiff, significant-other complaint inducing rides that some people end up with. Is the 5100+OEM TRD springs setup good in this regard or is there a better option? Also should I do the leafs while I'm at it? I'm at 150k miles. V6 3.4 TRD 4x4. I'm looking for stock ride height. I might put a winch and winch bumper on at some point if this changes any answers (or can the Bilsteins adjust higher for the increased weight?).

Or, if you know a stock ride height suspension setup that has a perfect ride, I'd love to hear about it. I'm not even sure the 5100 can be run at stock ride height, now that I recall.

There is a stock setting for the 5100's. I just installed mine this week on the 2.5" and it's much better than the toytec 2.5" spacer I was using.

If you want a stock ride, then install Bilstein shocks, the type that came with your vehicle. With 150k on the truck, I would also install new, progressive front springs, and I would check the rack bushings and tie rod ends as well as the ball joints.

A new set of tires won't hurt either.

I want stock ride height, but I hate my current suspension. To be fair it might be because the front may be worn out (may not be). The rear was just replaced. I'd hate to do the labor and then find I still hate it. So I'm leaning towards an upgrade from stock.

Absolutely do the leaf springs. Check out General Spring KC, they've got a good set that is not only tougher but rides just a nice as the OEM pack. They're very affordable too.

As for 5100s, I like mine but am planning on switching over to an OME setup (more height, tire clearance, etc.). The ride is close to stock but it's no Audi. I think you'll be satisfied with them. If you get 5100s front and rear with the stock springs and the General KC setup, you'll be pretty close to stock height.

shocks dont give you lift the coils do. And a co lift will only give you ride height clearance so your still gona rub.

the 5100s are digressively valved and will ride firmer and flatter on the road than. alot of people prefer this for a weekend warrior truck.
