So I purchased SPC UCA's and installed them yesterday. Truck is still on the lift as I need to put in new sway bar bushings. I do own a torque wrench and shame on me. Had tightend the upper ball joint with a 1/2 ratchet that didnt feel to tight but when I went to torque it down it was beyond specs.. around 120lbs. Question: Should I back them out and torque them to the correct specs? Would the spindle be damaged? (stock spindles) Leave it as is? What is to tight to point of failure?

Edit: Will be on lift over night

    Thanks for the help

    Some
as long as your threads are good and not stripped you should be fine to back off and torque to spec

What he said. Also, your spindle should be just fine.

Yeah, did just that. Backed them off and torqued them lil over spec. Talked to some guys there and alot say they just impact them so I figured mine was ok.

    Edit: Thanks for the responses
