I Just received my Pop & Lock 8521 but it doesn't come with a handle. I have an 08 Dbl Cab and an aftermarket camera for it. Does this mean I have to drill a hole in my handle for the eye of the camera?

Maybe I should buy an 09 handle if it fits my truck?

I'd look for an alternative place to put the camera. Somewhere on the bumper maybe, or by the license plate. Just drill a hole if need be and maybe get a buddy who's good with iron works to make a mount. One way or another you'll probably have to do some cutting into the truck. Cutting on the bumper or near the license plate may be more concealable if you were to make a mistake (not saying you will). Beside that, your camera should of came with instructions as well as electronic layouts so it'll be easy as hell to wire. I'd just look for a simpler place to put. Cutting into the tailgate/latch itself could result in hitting an internal part that would end up costing you more (i.e. bars that hook the tailgate and disengage it).

Too bad you don't live closer to me or vise versa man. I'd be down with selling you my 2010 tailgate for cheap with a trade on the camera. I plan on buying a tiregate and will most likely end up in your same situation in the near future.

Yeah I think you have a good idea.....buy the 09 handle which has a place for a camera and just use the POPNLOCK in conjunction with it. I believe the toyota handle is available for just under $100 bucks.

Got off the phone with toyota today and found the damage to be $104 for a handle with the camera slot.

So my choice is buy a PnL 5300 and make a bracket or the toyota handle with the camera slot.

5300 is a locking handle w/a camera slot. You shouldnt need a bracket as soon as your camera is the same size as the OEM.
