I believe the highest you can go up front is 2" on the 5th notch with stock springs. I've heard people using 888 springs set at first notch will get you 3".

No they would not work, they are set up differently.

Ok, I read that lifts from 05+ tacos will fit gen 3s, if this is the case can I use some 5100s from those trucks

Yes... its not the shock that lifts the truck.... its the springs. So you need to change out the stock OEM springs in the front AND in the rear. For the REAR you can do AAL's = add a leaf ... you add leaf springs the thicker the leaf pack the higher up you go in the rear. In the front you have COIL springs. Taller coil springs raise your truck up... has nothing zero nada to do with what shocks you have on.

The bilstein 5100 FRONT shocks have 3 settings... use the 0 ZERO setting and add 885s or 887s for ~2" lift, rear you can do Icon Progressive AAL's with the 5100s.

For the question regarding gen2 shocks, yes they fit I run them. Bilstein just came out with a Gen3 version due to the difference (+85#s) in weight of the Gen3... if it matters get the new ones they work too.

What are you talking about? With Bilstein 5100, them only, with stock springs, you can lift 2.5" the front suspension.

Sure thing.... add 2.5" lift via the setting on the 5100 FRONT shocks... rear shocks don't have a setting so you get the BRO-lean pictured above. That's how you "lift" your truck with 5100s and retain the stock springs... Problem UN-solved. Just sayin....

The picture is not what 5100s can lift.
You can only add a leaf to the rear.
