Sir, let's just establish one thing real quick...truck stuff needs no justification. Because race truck.

(I'm about to order M/Ts and I'll likely never see mud.)

whats the point of having a truck with out 4wd? Even if you never think you'll use it, you still may need it someday. Plus it increases the resale value of your truck. Heck, even if ur never gonna go offroading, get a car with awd.

Increases resale? o_Oo_O but you have to buy it upfront which you pay more for. We also have less to maintain and less to break. Your point is invalid.

What's the point of posting in threads that you clearly have no interest in, and where you add nothing of value?

So by your logic, every 2wd vehicle should be banned from the planet? What a moron.

At least for me the decision was easy. I had been eyeing the turd generation as many call them, TRD Sport, v6 4x4 DCLB. Every one that I built online ran aboout $40k. As my career transitioned to a new company, I was just waiting for a little stability before taking the plunge. Then I met her. As things in the relationship got serious, I started reevaluating my priorities. Was my 2008 Mazda with 160,000 miles starting to show its age? Yes. Was it in need of new suspension? Yes. Was the cost of doing that greater than the value of the car? Yes. Did I need a newer vehicle? Undoubtedly. Did I need a new truck that would require me to use $20k of savings and then finance $20k? No. Would I be having a wedding coming up down the road and have to consider not just things in my life but her life too? Yes. So I found a '12 PreRunner 4x2 that was being sold at a good price that met my needs. Did it meet my wants? Hardly. In the end, I do not regret my decision.

4wd costs more upfront, costs more to maintain, costs more for insurance....some people have no need for 4wd. I can tell you i only would like to have 4wd maybe 1 day out of the whole year when we might get 2" of snow here which is ALOT for our area. I still am fine with 2wd tho.
