Post your mpg

Just picked up a DCOR Friday and I'm getting around 17-18 hopefully it improves.........

The guys who are getting 20 mpg or more are pretty much stock,
if your getting over 21mpg with aftermarket tires I'd be interested to see them, looking at buying new tires in the next couple of weeks.

 

Live in LA now and average 14mpg.. fucking sucks. Having heavy ass shocks and tires don't help, 6spd manual makes it worse too. Feel like I should be driving a v8

 

Went for a Sunday drive along the lake roads. Mostly 35-50mph with one or two 30 mph sections. Calculates to 25mpg. Those who claim to do better than this must be on a trailer. If I even eased off a few kph for a turning vehicle ahead and then eased back up to speed my mpg dropped.

Normally my mpg sucks as my drive to work is 7km (4.4miles) and the truck is just getting to full operating temp. Below that it’s efficiency tanks. As the truck has broken in the MPG (l/100km) has gotten much better and has now stabilized. I am not expecting much of an increase beyond a few % at best from here on out. Truck currently has approx. 3000km (1864m).

 

This was my best tank yet. Yes, the gauge says full. I forgot to take the picture before I filled up. I put in 18.8 gallons.

 

I think there should be a rule that the MPG you post is a complete tank average. Tons of people pitching tents in their pants because they drove down a 10 mile-long mountain road and got 25 mpg. My thirsty-ass gen 2 will get 26 mpg going from 7200 ft to 6,000 ft. Hardly an indicator of it's overall MPG.

 

Not sure about that man, my truck is stock, it has 2000 miles and the average is 18mpg, I drive like an old man too.

 

That's kinda what I figured is more realistic, it would be great to be in the 20 plus mpg but hard to do

 

It's been cold since I got the truck in November though, so I'm hoping it'll get better once the weather gets warmer.

 

A rule?

This is a 3rd gen group thread for people to compare their MPG. Many post the conditions / variables that they achieved their numbers. That should be enough to justify their numbers. Adding rules complicates stuff unnecessarily and limits the free flow of information. I read about what interests me. I care about stock trucks and trailer pulling because that is what affects me. I don't care about lifted trucks or larger tires because I am not in those categories but I can read past that.

 

on my 4x2 sport, i average between 19.5-21.0 depending on how much freeway driving i do. not bad for living in LA.

 

I keep forgetting to look at mine... The best I can tell you is that after driving about 20 miles after filling up mine said 375. So, if mine said 385 when I got it; then, mine is increasing. I only have about 6k.

I suspect it is based on your long term MPG. They're probably all set the same from the factory and over time it converges to your average. You can see my MPG in my sig.

 

I-5 north from Seattle to the LaConner zone. 99% highway. 265/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler ATs. 5100s with a 1.5 inch lift. Cap with racks.

Also, I'm getting about 19 MPGs up and back from Mt Baker Ski Area.

In-city Seattle driving I'm at about 16 MPGs.

 

I average 18.5 mpg (same as my 2014) with 50% city and 50% highway.

 

I'm with you. Its not very helpful to post a pic of the dash cluster saying 27 mpg after coasting down a hill for 10 miles. It's just worthless data. Doesn't so much need to be a rule as courtesy.

With that being said. Last tankfull after 370 miles of half and half curvy roads from 45-65mph to in town driving 0-35mph. 21.24mpg hand calculated.

 

The best I've seen in my 17 4x4 trd dclb is 19.9. Most of the time is in the 17's for city and 18's for highway. I usually drive anywhere from 65-75 on highway. My 145 lb sliders aren't helping me. The killer is the downshifts when using cruise control on virtually any hill and the constant texas wind. Driving into those 25-30mph headwinds brings me into the low 15's. my 2011 4x4 trd dcsb averaged 18-19. not as affected by wind and hills. Those averages are by dividing miles by gallons, not with the onboard computer. I'm only at about 4k miles so it should improve. Alsp. leaving central texas toward Big Bend you are climbing from 700 ft to 4000 feet.

 

If you want real data you have to go to Fuelly. A few people posting on a forum about gas mileage tells us nothing

 

I agree with you about more data but Fuelly gives No data about lifts or tire size or intake or exhaust data mods.etc. I tried starting a thread a while ago but it was not taken well ,
