Can a swingout be made for the 1st Gen Rear Bumper???

    Bro thanks so much for posting those pics I asked wilco numerous times to show a pic of a 1st Gen all be it the VT tiregate was what I'm looking at but really wanted to see the mounting of it which is the same

    Yea. Its going to be the same mounts. They are pretty beefy and even use braces.
    I had my hardtop on it once...you can see that the rear window wont close even if the tire was off.

    I would guess the vt mounts the same way but the tire is strait up and down..correct?

    Have you noticed if the swing out has "sagged" over time? Is it easy to open close...latch?

    No sag whatsoever. This thing is beefy as all getout. It has become a bit more harder to open but ive had it on for years and never greased the bushings. I need to get on that.

    I would think the vt would be a bit lighter since there is probably less tubing and the tire sits upright.

    I like that wilco rig. As long as a person has the correct class hitch, it should work just fine.
