It's a true 33" maybe a touch more. I measured horizontally across the center cap.

Yes. I measured sideways to prevent the squish from load bearing from changing the diameter of the measurement.

If you get a chance would you measure them vertically? Want to know what lift I will get out of the tire.
    Thanks

Best to measure the rear diff and or from the center of the hub. My rear diff is 10.5" off the ground and the center of the hub is 15.75" high.

We have different trucks so thought differential measurement wont be the same. Easy for me to use the tire height number. Stock my differential plug (lowest part) is 9".

I've been considering going up to a 33 and have been hung up on the 255/85/16 choices because of how heavy they are. My current 265/75/16 ko2s have been great for me and with these "34s" being a load range d, they are only 2lbs more per tire according to BFG. I think I will wait for the next discount tire eBay deal and swoop up a set of 5. In the meantime I will sort through 17" wheel choices.

Just as an FYI for those involved here. The larger tires appear to really throw off the gearing quite a bit. Took it on the highway for about 200 miles yesterday and I can definitely notice the power loss. Would highly recommend regearing with these. I'll report back on what my new fuel economy average is once I have time to fill up later today.

Did you happen to weigh a tire?

I couldn't tell whether your previous Nittos were P rated or not, but if they were then yes there is a huge difference in weight. I previously had p-rated Cooper ATPs in 265/75/16. My 53lb e-rated KO2s were then installed before I added a canopy with rack, ARB bumper, and steel skids. At that time the difference wasn't much other than a rougher ride, but now with all of the added weight I can feel it much more. It does struggle at highway speeds as I regularly make trips over the mountain pass and from Seattle to Vancouver BC, but I'm used to it. Regearing is not on my list of mods to do at the moment, but things could change depending on how I end up utilizing my truck.

Wasn't ignoring this question....just needed to get one of them off so I could weigh it. The tire with the stock TRD Sport wheel is 83.2 pounds. The TRD Sport wheel (with wheel caps and valve stems) should be right at 26 pounds. Hope this helps you.

^^Thanks that validates the advertised tire weight of 56 lbs.

Alright, Just want to confirm, because I thought 285x70 was smaller than 34x10.5. at least that is what the Tire Calculator shows. I currently have 275x70 in the BFG, and was wanting a taller tire, but if the 34 isn't taller than 285x70 in the KO2s, then It sounds like my 275x70 will probably be the same height, right?
edit: Rim is a 17 if that helps...

Tire calculator is great for estimating but in real life youll have to measure each different tire from different manufacturers. I thought 285 s were just under 33"?
The 34/10.5/17 is a full 33" if not a touch more.

yeah, I will have to go to a tire shop and literally see them side by side I think.

    Thanks!

Amazing information man thank you for sharring. I think im sold on the 34 ko2. I have a 3rd gen and plan on just under 3"lift running bilstein 5100 paired with ome coils and dakars, 1.25 spidertrax and switch to regular Rokblox. I wonder if these will rub on stock suspension for the time being

I can tell you that you'll definitely want to regear. The 4.0 V6 in the 2nd gen has better low end torque and mine is struggling on the highway. If you're in a 3rd gen with the smaller engine your fuel economy will suffer. I just did the math for you and you'll be turning 1604 RPM at 70mph on those tires. The 3rd gen has longer gearing from the factory. So make sure you budget for a regear too!
