Hahah. Just like all the other fun stuff on my truck, it serves a purpose. I'm doing for gas mileage, ability to prefilter dirt/dust while offroad, and overall engine health. Its not for river crossings, although i have gone through plenty of crossings which were ~30" deep and pushed the limits of "safe" with a stock intake... 2wd did just fine with enough skinny pedal lol

That's what's up! Although I've been on Mojave Road, King of the Hammers, Death Valley, and Joshua Tree-- all in the same week. A snorkel for pre filtration would have done nothing for engine life in all those conditions. And this has been the dampest desert season in years. Just admit it, snorkels are cool looking. I like them too. Haha

It was last year up in northern nevada, near lake tahoe. A small group did some off grid camping up there. There were 5 crossing along the trail to camp and it was the only way in or out. 3 days total, so i made 30 crossings that trip. 3 of them were only about as deep as half the wheel. The other 2 came above the cab line a little more then 3/4 of the wheels submerged. I puckered every time i crossed because of the 2wd i knew if i got stuck or stopped in the deep ones water would start rushing through the door seals. I honestly amazed myself and didnt think id get through. Snorkel wasnt necessary obviously, but our intake being in the wheel well it certainly would have been some nice reassurance to have one during that trip

Ok ok maybe its like 50% for looks buahah. But for real though a really good prefilter would make a drastic difference in how much dirt actually makes it to your main filter.

No doubt. And mucho respect for getting after that. Many aren't kowing of what a stock Tacoma, and you're far from stock, can handle. I wheeled some fun trails in Anza this weekend with a couple stock tacos and they rolled flawless.

Call Demello or DMZ. Not sure if yotamasters install shit they don't sell. If you're from San Diego why don't you call the truck shop in Miramar?
