Hitch question

I want to get a hitch for my Tacoma. I am wondering what you guys have, what is compatible. (I need model names, numbers, etc., please!).

I have found the

$196 Curt 13013 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver, Compatible with Select Toyota Tacoma , Black

Curt 13013 but ~$130 is a little much right now unless I can find something cheaper. Or, what brands/models I can look for on CL and classifieds to score a good price.

That's not bad for a tow hitch. I've been looking for one on Craigslist for months and even used ones go upwards of $125. For something as important as a hitch you don't want to cheap out on it.

 

That's true. Mainly I guess I'm just looking for what people have so I can hopefully find a good deal on one. I know of the

Any of the Major Brands they all seem to be in the $125.00 to $175.00 price range .

Curt , Reese , Draw-Tite Buyers I have used them all over the years

Watch those Universal Fit ones they can be a pain.

What brand Hitches are sold by the autoparts you deal with these are heavy shipping can get expensive fast .

 

Just FYI I recently picked up a used but great condition, factory style hitch with an unused wiring kit (plug & play, for Tacoma) for $125. Can't remember what brand it was, but the person I bought it from had it installed at the Toyota dealer. Will look for the part number and report back.

 

The hitch that came on my truck was made by Valley Industries and I've been able to tow a boat all last summer. The hitch is rated to 5000 lbs and the boat was 2800

I have a curt and it works fine. Every big name hitch company will all perform the same. Nothing special about any over the other

 

Or this is just a little over double the cost of a normal tow receiver and also double the tow rating, not that you'd want to tow more than 5k with a taco. I also saw you are trying to keep it cheap though.
