Hmm, do they stick out far enough to protect against door dings and work somewhat as a step for the shorter people who ride in my truck?

Yes they do stick out and my 7 year old uses them to climb in the back now with the lift and tires.

Good to know! was talking to him today, will be placing the order here shortly. On a side note what lift did you go with? Thinking of doing mine in the next 3-4 months.

Check out my build thread below.
I went with the 2" (approx) Ironman Lift with Foam cell shocks and struts.

Check with Jason as he may have a few more kits in stock.

Had more wheeling with it this week. Old BC interior deactivated logging roads. Lots of mud holes and rough roads. No rock crawling or articulation stuff but very happy with lift and tires (BFG KO2).

Good to know on the lift, your probably tackling the same type of trails that i tend to hit up.

I used to do the Island Rockcrawl every year in Sooke in my samurai. Crazy trails there!

I'm more of an overland guy myself, comes from my years of working in Africa. Just loved driving around there and exploring. I also got to do some pretty serious offroading there for work on our mountains as I was building new roads, we were given course, and got to do some pretty cool rescues from rivers/etc. Sigh, miss those days.

oh simmer down, every thread on this forum is way off topic usually within 3 posts.

I've put in the order for the sliders, just debating on the lift now.

    Thanks

Well had the sliders put on yesterday at Cruisin offroad, and Ironman foam cell pro's today. Overall super happy with how everything turned out. Now to start the planning on a few other mods.

We forgot to measure before installing the shocks, truck is roughly 2" higher and I expect that to decrease a bit as the coils settle which will require an adjustment in a couple of weeks/month. The foam cell pros are freaking massive and very well built. There is still lots of room on the front shock for adjustment, I figure I can gain another 2" in the front from looking at the adjustability of the shock(probably need a different UCL), but the rear is limiting without putting in a spacer or something. I'm not looking for a crazy lift, just performance and a minor lift for fast logging road travel.

Already these shocks are amazing, we did a test drive on a mildly bad road and it is stiffer (ye ha, it finally drive like a truck) but it soaked up the larger bumps/dips in the road amazingly well. Very minimal body roll when cornering hard. I took it for a rip on some less traveled roads on my way back and I am thoroughly impressed. It will be getting a good workout int he Kootenays over the fall as I am there for work and will be doing a lot of exploring in the backcountry on my days off. I'll post up some pics of the truck side on when I get a chance. The parking lot at the hotel is full of cars right beside the truck.

I have found another Canadian supplier in Alberta. They are just starting but the really cool thing is they are offering sliders and bumpers etc. that are GALVANIZED and POWDER-COATED!!
    So cool
    Element metal Fabrication.
Here is their Instagram account with pics
    http://www.imgrum.net/user/elementmetalfab/4033432123

I have been emailing back and forth and they have decent prices considering the galvanizing and powdercoating.Perfect for canada winters.
    Check them out.

    All of them

In the same boat. With some research over the last few weeks here's what I've found

    4wheelparts.com
    https://www.4wheelparts.com/stores/StoreLocator.aspx#CANADA
    - stores in Burlington ON, Fredericton NB, Montreal QC, Calgary AB, Edmonton AB, and Langley BC. Free shipping if the product you want is in their calfornian warehouse (I forget which one) if you do call the Fredericton one, ask for Donny. He's the most friendly honest guy you'll ever deal with.

    speed demon Calgary
    https://www.speeddemonlights.com
    - they're a light bar company that's only been around 4 years. Just recently bought a 40" bar from them and hoping it'll fit in my prinsu rack. Decently priced. $550 bucks all in with a lifetime warrantly.

    Partsengine.ca
    https://www.partsengine.ca/default.aspx
Think they're in based out of Toronto ON

Most places give a 5% military discount. Speed demon does 15%

    Hope this helps.
