I just bought a 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4x4. Its my second Toyota, the first was a 2006 Tundra....it was ok.....I have always had Fords and have always had good luck with them until my last F250......So...I decided to go back to Toyota but this time a Tacoma.....I was told it has a towing capacity of 6800 lb...I dont think so....I am really underwhelmed by its power. I pulled my 19 ft Carolina Skiff sunday.....I was disappointed. .....maybe I am used to the power of a diesel....Or F150.....Is there anything I can do to get more power?.....my boat motor and trailer weighs about 2000 lb.

Nope. It is what it is.

Some folks run in ECT mode, some regear. Neither of which makes 'more power', but they do change the operating characteristics enough to overcome some shortcomings.

If the ECT mode doesn't float your boat (see what I did there?) it may be better plan to trade the vehicle than to futz with gears
