my chrome bumper had a few battle scars. came across these from http://www.Ecoological.com
prep, primer, paint, install pretty easy.
duplicolor 1e7 did not match my silver streak mica 2nd gen. i used duplicolor toyota code 1f7. close enough for a 10 yr old truck.
    I recommend this product.

    Hi,
Any closer to having bumper covers for the '16-'17 Tacomas?

Have had these for about 1 year. They always blow off if you take it through a car wash w air dryers. Fit is pretty bad. Hanging on by a thread and could never get the license plate lights on right again

Covered the rear chrome bumper on my 2005 TRD Off Road. Very easy install. Everything lined up perfectly. Color matched very nice. Called and emailed the factory and spoke to Grant. He was very helpful with my
order. Before and after pictures. Highly recommend the product.

Has anyone had issues putting back on the black plastic fasteners on the bottom of the bumper? I can’t get them to go back in for the life of me... I mean I know I haven’t been to the gym in awhile but damn those suckers won’t budge. Am I missing something with these guys?

What color did you get? The bed lined version can get a little thick at the bottom which makes them a little harder to get back on.

In any case, Here is a couple of suggestions.
    • You can take some clamps to bring the cover, the OE bumper, and the frame close together. Just use a piece of cloth on the outside of the BumperShellz so the finish doesn't get damaged.
    • Make sure the holes are aligned. If they're off a little bit that can make it much more difficult. If you can still move it a little bit to align the holes, try that. If not, use a small file or Dremel to widen the clip hole in the cover to give you more room.
    • Pick up some cheap "christmas tree" clips from a local auto parts store. That will do the trick.
Let me know if that helps!

I like chrome - One of the reasons I like my truck - reminds me of the olden days when vehicles had some class. Chrome is easy to keep clean if you wax it and very durable compared to paint. I get a laugh out of the clowns that paint their chrome and all you see is a bunch of blotchy paint peeling off with the chrome showing underneath - Wow that really looks good !! -

I’d like to hear more about your experience. I was close to pulling the trigger until I read this. Have any pics?

We changed the design back in 2017 to include screw holes to give the product a mechanical attach point to prevent that from happening. Haven't had an issue since. Even before then it wasn't very common. @TXAggieTRD Shoot me a message if you're still active on the forum! We'll get you out a replacement set with the new design!
