Speed SURGING 2008 TACOMA 4.0L ??????????HELP!!!!!

Hey tacomaworld friends im having a bit of a problem with my 08 tacoma 4.0L V6 trd Sport 4x4...
it started in around 40-50mph at the highway when trying to accelerate i get a surging on speed for a second then everything works fine, recently it did it in some other speeds
WHAT COULD IT BE!?

 

air fuel mix ?
Cruise control?

 

what exactly do you mean by this? could you provide a little more detail please..

 

Yeah, my 2005 started doing the same thing last night. It's like the power shuts off and on multiple times and then seems to clear out once you pick up speed. I thought maybe the fuel pump, since the fuel gauge messes around with reading properly at times?
