I have a 05 Tacoma that I am looking to get painted white. Is there anything to prevent desert scratchs other that turtle wax? Also is it even noticeable on white? Pics are appreciated!

I have no clue what you are talking about. Desert pin stripes??

Waxes, sealers, coatings, glazes etc do not prevent scratching.

Desert pin stripes are scratches from bushes and trees on trails.

When that white pair t gets scratched your old red paint is going to show through so obvious.

vinyl wrap the truck and save your paint under it, the wraps are pretty good at stoping scratches from going further into paint

The vinyl wrap is great suggestion. It's pretty tough shit.

That's a type of boa or python.

In the desert we have pit vipers:

Also, with some of the kinds of trees/bushes at least out here (Arizona), I really don't think you're going to be able to do much to protect against pin striping unless you just stay off the trail and keep it at the mall...
Plastidip and vinyl won't do much considering how hard OEM paint is that can get scratched through.

    Embrace it!

I have an 05 as well, it's spent it's whole like offroading in the desert with more pin strips than i can count. Pin stripes aren't that noticable on white but deep enough and you might see the original paint.
Here's my truck, i've never waxed or claybard it which is why the paint looks dull now.
