So I finally came around to installing some quality parts on my truck and I'll create a build page soon but I need some help with a brake/drivetrain question? I just installed EBC USR rotors, 7000 series green stuff pads (ill be going with yellow next since they dont make a ceramic red pad for tacomas yet), new standard shoes for the rear, all new hardware front and rear, rear drums resurfaced and coated for no rust, new dorman rear cylinders and a full brake flush with fill up on dot 3 ( wish i did dot 4 but that's for the future). Even before I got my brakes adjusted at 500 miles after install I still have a loud clicking when I brake, and only when i brake, either in reverse or drive. I was told it could be the new cylinders and hardware self adjusting for the new pads but this has been happening since install. I also lifted the front 3in and the rear 2 in, (dont judge on the spacers, waiting on full kit for now) could it be a possible drivetrain click now? Any info would be great! I was thinking I may need to shim the carrier bearing, already have to replace it soon.

Unfortunately I can't at the moment and i dont have a previous picture of the inside. Monday I'm getting the tires rotated because I also feel excess vibrations which could be caused by the lift but im gonna check if the tires are the cause of the vibrations. Ill see if they can pop off the drum to let me take a look and ill get a pic.

I have experienced issue both with the parking cables and also hardware inthe rear, if not put back properly it can cause a clicking noise. Also where the shoes hit the dust plate I always try and put a light coating of anti-seize.
As far as the front the pad pins that hold pads into the bracket I had to replace due to them being slightly smaller diameter to the aftermarket pads.

Installing wheels/ tires with an impact gun often causes the wobble. I loosen mine after the tire shop and tighten with a ratchet then a torque wrench. Wobble gone every time.

@Pigpen has a very valid and often overlooked point. Over torqued wheels will cause a wobble

Ok so i totally forgot to get around to posting. And i even forgot to take a pic, I spent the better part of yesterday pulling apart the brakes front and rear. Front calipers were way to over tightened, retorqued the calipers back to spec and retorqued wheels back to spec 83 ft lbs. Thanks @Pigpen and @Axletin Less wobble in the steering but still have drivetrain vibrations and the click. And then I came to the drums in the back... pulled off the passenger side drum, and out comes a bent RUSTY WOOD NAIL and a lower shoe spring, of course I was pretty confused with the bent wood nail coming out and I immediately put the spring back in place and made sure to check that it wasn't going to fall out again. I will never let the guy who did my brakes touch them again, i'll just do it myself lol, paid about $750 with labor and parts. Decided to take a look underneath at the drive shaft, looks like the carrier bearing is shot, it moves a good 1 or 2 inches up and down in the metal bracket. And then I look at the tranny and it look like the pinion seal is trash were the driveshaft connects with the tranny, trans fluid dripping out. That must be why it feels like it's clunky when changing gears, it's been leaking for awhile i guess. And of course all this comes at a fantastic time, 2 deaths in the family and funerals on both east and west coast that i have to attend. Ive given up on my idea of a mid travel and decided its time to just go full out. Gonna hop on the king group buy when it comes, next month dirt king long travel kit, april, giant motorsports 64in spring under kit and ill have it all installed at once with 4.56's and a new clutch lsd for the rear in may, custom bed cage, etc. Ready to enter the LT age, it's been too long.

When it rains, it pours. Looking forward to seeing your build though!
