I am in the market for this truck but prices seem very high to me around $32k.

Is this the going price? It seems like this is a close to invoice price when it was new.

I am getting dealer quotes on 17's TRD SpoRts for $34k and that is without walking in the door and negotiating.

Nope its just the cost to enter the Tacoma game.

Tacoma resale values are number 1 year after year, subsequently prices are high.

I paid 28 for my '15 double cab 4x4 after negotiating. Had 20,080 miles on it and it looked immaculate. Hope you can negotiate a good deal. They are great trucks!

I paid 27,500 for my 13 TRD OR Access cab with 14k miles back in 2014. The dealer I bought it from is currently offering to buy it back at what I paid for it with 40k miles, plus incentives towards a tundra. Basically putting me into a lightly used SR5 TRD tundra for slightly more than a straight trade. So yes these things have crazy high resale. Especially for people who don't want a 3rd gen. The 12-15 Tacoma is highly coveted. That said, 32k isn't outrageous but you can probably do a little better if you shop around a little.

the jbl and navi is probably keeping it up. I would say offer 30, but toyota dealerships dont budge much, probably have to shop around

Pricing seems to vary a lot depending on where you live. Scope out Craigslist and Toyota dealers to get a feel for asking prices in your area. Don't be afraid to negotiate the price but also don't expect them to come down by more than a couple thousand, if that, if the asking price is within reason.

I just looked at a 14taco DBSB 4x4 for 22k. spotless inside and outside.
only downside is the original owner seemed to like to drive.
    150k miles lol.

All 2013-2015 4x4's in my area are around $30k if they have reasonably low miles. The good news is, they will pay top dollar for your old Taco if youre trading up. I sold my 2012 to a dealer for $3k less than i paid for it new! 70,000 miles of driving and very little depreciation.

Paid 28.5 for my 15 with 15k on the odometer. No JBL, SR5

JBL "premium" sound system still sucks but does jack up the price a lot. That being said, right around 30k seems to be the going rate for what you are looking for.

OP here, so they (Nissan Dealer) came down to $31,750 and made me a good offer on my trade (2013 Ford F-250 Platinum diesel) but I wanted the Tacoma for mid 30's top so I walked.
On my way home I decided to look at the 17 Tacomas and decided to work a deal on one of those.

Thanks for the help much appreciated.
