'Kickin out of gear', can you explain that a little further? It certainly shouldn't slip when taking off from a stop. These transmissions are tough and rarely have problems. There have been a lot of issues with transmissions being low from the factory. There are plenty of threads in this forum about this. I do have a slight slip during extremely cold weather before the transmission is warmed up. I suspect low fluid, but not enough to give me trouble otherwise. I'm just about at 60k miles and I'm going to drain and refill the tranny soon.

When I come to a fast complete stop at a light or stop sign is when and only then it kicks out of gear like going to neutral
then when I go to take off it bangs into gear just like low tranny fluid

If they brought it up to temperature via their equipment and checked the fluid, then yes, it's normal.

... if they just simply cracked open the filler plug and checked, they don't give a shit about it.

I have been a ASE certified mechanic for 25 years when trans fluid get low and moves to the side or front of the pan the pick up sucks air and you lose pressure to the clutches Causing a loss of transmission operation till fluid is present again to provide pressure This is my 5th Tacoma and never had this problem I can't believe that this would be incorporated into the operation of the trans, the force on the thrust washers would cause a early failure resulting in lost pump pressure and trans failure
I have to pursue this further I have searched the internet and came up with no answers to my question
Thanks for the reply and concern

I sa that article and down loaded the PDF file I have an appointment with service the 20th for my 20,000 checkup I am going to get a hold of the shop Forman and tell him my problem if they do not take care of it when I leave and if it kicks out of gear I will floor board it and blow the tranny it under warranty let them explain that as the complaint will be on the repair ticket and I will have him validate that it is a normal operation and sign it
    Thanks for the response
