I plan on writing a book about this that will not be broad. TW just isn't the place to do it.

My friend Doug was in the Marine Corps for 4 or 5 years. He grew up in Washington (state). As an honorably discharged Marine, his license didn't expire EVER. He moved to Georgia to be with his girlfriend, and unfortunately his Georgia driver's license "only" expires when he's 65 as a result of his military service. I think more states need to just make a "no bullshit" exception for military.

Why not just tell them, "Please don't wash my windows" and end the conversation there? People from Pennsylvania aren't particularly chatty/talkative people, so I am sure they would understand. Or, even just tell them to kindly fuck off?

Both times the guy literally just came out of nowhere. They "blindside" you. This Shell station is the only place where this happens. I told my dad and he said he wouldn't be surprised if A) The owner/clerk at the gas station is unaware that random people are trying to get money out of customers, or B) These are down on their luck people the owner knows, and is doing them a favor by letting them just start washing windows without asking. I avoid that station now unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

I feel the same way about meter maids. It's 2017 for Christ's Sake! We have technology! They license license plate readers! If I'm parked illegally give a me a ticket, but photograph the damn license plate and mail it to me. Don't lean over my front fender to slip a ticket under the wiper!

Here's a good TRUE story. In school I was not known as a troublemaker. I've never been arrested and have no criminal records. The one and only time I got an out of school suspension was in 8th grade back in like November 2002 because I "assaulted" a kid in my math class who was bullying me. I'd had enough, the teacher wasn't doing much to stop it, and the kid pushed me over the edge so I slammed my desk into the back of his chair. Suspended two days for "assault." For two days out of school suspension it would have been worth to punch the kid right in the face...

So, here's my quote of the day: "I don't cause trouble or start fights. I'm a nice guy who on numerous occasions gave school bullies exactly what they deserved. I only got caught once."

By the way, how I acted as an 11-17 year old kid is different from how I act now. Subconsciously I knew nobody would arrest or file charges against a minor for decking a kid who'd been bullying him. As soon as I turned 18 and legally became an adult, I just changed.

Can't say I've ever heard of the product, nor have I seen people just come up to a car, start detailing it, and push a product. I can tell you that if someone did that to my truck, that'd be the last vehicle they touch!

I have a degree in journalism and I have Aspergers... This has turned out to be a very good combination and the competent people in the special ed/mental health people realize I'm the person they need to give insight on improving conditions for other people who aren't as high-functioning as me.

I regularly get called upon to sit on panels relating to AS/Autism, and talk to other kids (typically lower functioning. One of the things annoyed the crap out of me pre-Tacoma/pre-driver's license was having to ride in a bright yellow Ford van that said "Intermediate Unit #22" on the side. The van drew a lot of attention and I believed that people would see "Intermediate Unit #22" and think "Juvey Van." I talked to a friend with AS who is even higher functioning than me, and he agreed.

At this one panel discussion back in 2010, a female special ed teacher started talking about how her students complained about going to a designated room that really made it glaringly obvious they had disabilities. She couldn't understand why they cared so much and asked me what I thought. I told the IU#22 van story and to say I literally "schooled" her would be an understatement. She just went silent and didn't say anything else. Apparently some conversations went on after the panel when I'd left the room.

I honestly didn't think it mattered at the time, or that I'd really made a difference. However, my friend's mom who has a master's degree and has devoted her whole life to helping people with AS was at the discussion. She took me aside after the discussion, gave me a big hug, and told that by bringing up an issue as simple as a bright yellow transport van, I had made that woman see the light.

I have a sticker on the back of my rearview mirror that says "Do not screw with my Tacoma. Serious injury or death may occur!" It has a picture of a 2nd gen DCSB 4x4 and one guy taking a bat to another guy's head.

More of an "after drinking" story. Out at a bar with some coworkers and most of us left early because we had to work the next day. One of my coworkers stayed and kept going until the bar closed at about 1AM or so. Nobody bothered to take his keys and on his way home he "fell asleep" and drove his car off the road. He somehow managed not to hit a single tree or otherwise damage his car's body work but hit a large rock with his engine block and ripped the entire engine out the bottom of his car. I've never seen anything like it, the car looked completely fine from the outside except for the fact that the engine was sitting in the dirt about 50ft behind his car. For what it's worth it was an audi...

I've been lit on fire by a drunken friend throwing gas on a bon fire with a jerry can. The fire went up the spout as he was holding it, so he threw it behind him right onto my head. I got lucky and ended up with just a bad hair cut / burn.

Not my drinking story, but a story from a friend...

He and his girl had been drinking a bit before going to the restaurant, she a bit more than he to the point of tipsy.

Sitting around the Hibachi grill with other patrons at the well known Japanese steakhouse chain, the cook was presenting his show when suddenly Alex's (name changed to protect the guilty) girl had a bad moment.

She suddenly threw up onto the hot grill.

He said it basically emptied the restaurant.

A while back. My trainee cleared probabtion so the station took her out to celebrate. She said she had drank before so we weren't worried. She only have a couple of drinks and the devils water..(jager)
we were walking out to the truck and as a good FTO I was chosen to drive them all home. She was a little "tipsy" and sat up front in the Tacoma as a matter of fact.

Started feeling happy and touchy (Keeping it Grated) she was checking if she had dropped her contacts on the driver side floor boards...

When I felt a gush of warm fluids on my legs..

Needless to say I finished and the truck smelled like shit for about a month.

    1990 or so...

It's a Thursday and my buddy's parent go away for a week to some square dancing competition down in TX and leave his older brother in charge. He is 23 we are 17. He ditched us to go to some music fest and bought us a nattylightkeg (sorry RI lingo) not to rat him out BUT made it VERY clear not to fuck up!

So it's Saturday afternoon & me and two buddies are kings of the castle after we scrounged up some more booze and some reefer. We are hanging out in the pool (I'm cocked) waiting on the rest of the high school to show up.

    Fast Forward:

We hear screaming from in the front of the house and when we walk around the corner we see a mini van up in flames with 4 chicks crying in my buddies front yard. (Sober now... holy shit this car is like tower inferno). But I shit you not a car load of college chicks BOOM! They where on the way to meet some girl friends down in Virginia Beach (in like a $200 minivan).

So the fire trucks leave and we offer our sympathy, beer & weed.

Soooooo I'm cocked again two hours later when I hear my buddy say we'll get you there... somehow this hot redhead chick convinced/tricked my buddy to "drive her and her friends to Virginia Beach in his parents week or so old Winnebego. (with a credit card he is only supposed to use in case of emergency... fire? firemen & crying girls? this has emergency written all over it). Oh yeah this story does not end well). So we load up the keg and head for Virginia Beach... Now I am really fucked up!

Well we got as far as Manassas when the police informed us the temp plate had expired. From drunk off my rocker to stone cold sober when I looked out the curtains in the back...

    Fast Forward:

Three dads on a plane to pick up their knuckleheads arguing over who has the dumbest kid! So they play the silent treatment from the station to the camper.. took turns beating us.. then didn't say a word from VA back to RI.

I didn't see daylight for 5days (my bedroom was in the basement). My dad threw away all my cassette tapes and concert t-shirts! (It had to be Perry Farrell fault right?)... The devils work.. evil music.

A friend's dad has a late 70s-early 80s Suburban 4x4 that they used to tow their boat. It had the 350 with glass-packs on the back. The engine outlasted the truck. A/C was even still working but the floors rotted out.
