Too late to-De Badge & Color Match grill?

I currently have a 2015 tacoma double cab. I really want to remove the trd stickers from the back of the bed sides, remove some of the tailgate emblems, and add a factory color matched grill.

With the age of the truck would I have an issues with color differences after removing the emblems and a new factory color matched grill surround?

I recently debadged my 2005 no issues, heat and I used a decal eraser wheel

 

Nah go for it. Buff and wax the paint under good and you won't even know.

 

- heat gun
- tooth floss
- Decal Erase Wheel
- rubber compound
- polish and wax

And you're set!

 

I just partially de badged my 15 and you couldn't tell whatsoever where the emblems were.

 

you should be fine, I did mine after five years and there was no difference.

You won't have to use goo gone or anything like that, it will remove any residue left from the emblems with no damage to your point. Best $16 I spent!

 

You can order a color matching grill from CamelbackToyota.

Thats where I got mine, was like $189.00 IIRC

 

Or spend about 60 bucks and do it yourself, more money you save, more money for other mods!

Good advice...I did heat gun, then dental floss, then Goo Gone....took me about half hour to do both sides and rear. Looked perfect...

I love the clean look you get from a de-badged vehicle.

 

Debadged the tailgate on my 07 last summer. If I can do it with no residue you definitly can lol

 

I will be doing the same- removing my TRD off road decals on the rear box sides, emblems from the doors and tail gate and either modify the existing grill to get rid of the 'T' or get a grill with a light bar and colour matched grill surround.
