    Greetings,

I am looking at buying a 2006 TRD sport, but I'm skeptical because it doesn't have the hood scoop. Did they ever make any TRD sports without the scoop?

Hood swapping scoop for non-scoop is not uncommon, there are threads dedicated to finding a match to swap. Look to see if it has a power outlet in the bed, TRD trucks do, SR5 trucks do not.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I will double check on that power outlet.

Also check the vin, you can enter it on some sites and it will tell you about the vehicle.

Some vin reports are misleading. My truck comes back as a Pro (as others have happened as well), but it is not.

What the Internet give bad info, no way. I agree some are, that's why I check a few.

Worth a look at the VIN too, thanks for the idea.

Ended up not having the power outlet in the bed, so not a TRD sport.

Good catch. Lots of people wouldn't have caught that and bought it anyway

Just noticed this, and I'm confused. I have and SR5, badges are on there, I know that the previous owner didn't put them on. But I have and SR5 with a bed outlet. Thoughts?

Not uncommon around here to see older Sports (pre 2013) with SR5 badging.

It’s not a sport, has diff lock. I wonder if the guy I got it from took off the TRD bedside decals?

If Your dash looks like the circled part, you have a TRD off road.
