Changing out my power steering hose assembly and noticed a rotted clamp hanging on a hose just above the P/S return line. Followed it to the top of the engine compartment (driver's side, just behind the fuse box) and found it capped off next to another hose. The other end disappears underneath the engine, perhaps toward the top/front of the transmission. It does not appear to be leaking near the clamped area. I am going to try to get another clamp on it, but it's in a VERY tight area and I may not be able to. So, my questions are: does anyone know what the hose is for and is it critical that I get a clamp back on it??

Nah...not an emergency. Just don't leave it unclamped for a long time. the Hose could expand and make the breather loose. Water might get in there.

    Almost.....

Those are the breathers for the Front diff and front diff ADD actuator.

Breather for the trans is located on the top passenger side of the trans bell housing.

Breather for the tcase actuator goes into the tcase itself, then the tcase breather comes out and lays on top of the trans.

I was able to get a clamp on it without too much difficulty. Thanks again everyone!
