Anyone has the bolts seized up inside the crossbars? I didn't use any loctite, but one of the bolts won't budge for me to remove the bar. I might have stripped the bolt head too.

My prinsu will be arriving soon and I am trying to figure out what my options are as far as a shovel, axe, and hi lift mounts are concerned.

Has anyone had any success using front runner mounts on their prinsu? I read that they may be compatible but have never actually seen pics of front runner mounts on prinsu racks. I have also read people are using pelfreybilt mounts but haven't seen any pics of trucks using the shovel/axe mount on the prinsu. If you have had success using either, will you please post a pic?

I saw the info on the quickfists, which is a solid solution for the axe/shovel, but would love to know if anyone has other suggestions for the hi lift outside of the pelfreybilt.

    Thanks!

    First, welcome to TacomaWorld.

I don't mount heavy tools to the side of mine for fear of the mounts coming lose and that tool becoming "Exhibit A" in a manslaughter case against me. If you plan to put a jack or similar heavy tool up there seriously consider mounting it onto the decking of the rack for some added safety.

In the end remember that I'm just an old geezer that worries about crap like that so your mileage may vary.

    And again, welcome to TacomaWorld.

I was wondering the same if the Frontrunner Hi-lift jack mount would work. I saw a picture of the Pelfrey mount on this thread somewhere but not with the jack mounted to it.

This is something I've been wondering for a while...since the Frontrunner system uses a similar channel cross bar setup, can you use any Frontrunner accessories with the Prinsu rack?

I also wonder what kind of stress it would put on the rack side rails. Looking at the pictures on their website, it looks like it would fit but unclear if the space between the flat part and the bolts is wide enough or too wide for the prinsu rack thickness.

I think I may just go the Pelfrey route since it is proven to work with our rack. I just wish there were cheaper options...

I am going to pull the trigger on the dual jerry can mount and see if it works. From what i can tell from the pics, it should mount as long as the bolts are compatible... We will see...

Here is what I did for securing the roof lightbar wire to my windshield. Used these cable mounts https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FH6HYWO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1, replaced the adhesive with https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JOVUO0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The reason being is that I didn't want to block the channel where the water drains or gunk up with silicone adhesive. Plus this method is removable

I just punched holes in my rain gutter and used zip ties. The wire is practically invisible

Btw, does anyone have problems with these 3-4 piece Heretic light bars rattling/vibrating? I have to take mine off every couple of months to re-tighten the brackets that hold the pieces together. When I take the bar off to re-tighten I clamp it down to my work bench of make sure everything is straight, but after a while it just starts to sag and vibrates when I hit a bump or a pothole. Im at the point where I'm ready to get rid of this thing and get a 1 piece 40" bar. Either that, or get some kind of L-bracket to add additional support in the middle. Or have someone make me a single piece bracket that will attach to the rack and lights will attach to it.

EDIT: I had someone with a plasma cutter to make me some brackets

I ordered a replacement air-dam panel with 40" cut-out on 14 January 2017, with no further word on it yet since receiving confirmation of payment. A good question..

Do you have a better pic of how the bars attach to themselves? Blue locktite and/or lock washers come to mind.
