Good on you for disputing and getting your money back.

Three experiences over the last ~6 months with different Tacoma World "favourites" show that over-promising and under-delivering seems to be the status quo, and actually delivering what was promised is the exception to the rule. Pays to shell out more $$ to deal with larger, more reputable and more accountable companies.

So I already filed my dispute threw pay pal for ecg fabrication. I was not getting any responses back from them until yesterday. I got an email saying it should be here today. After a month and a half that was the first email I got. So the grill actually arrived. Not even what I ordered. Sending it right back. Worst customer service.

Ehhh. I don't really like the small lettering to much. This is what I was supposed to get.

That's a good point. They might be hard to deal with now that you got your product, although it wasn't what you wanted. With that being said, I would return that shit and then do the work yourself. You could probably get something similar made for about $250 if I had to guess.

They're on there pretty good. Ya im probably not going to send it back. The scare of having to deal with the service again. The thing is I needed the full grill, because the old one was broken. Would you just want the lettering, if I can get it off?

If you can remove the letters, I say just get some of the bigger letters and do them yourself. Def glad this thread exists to expose how shitty this company is.

Yes. Very cheaply done. Can't wait to replace my zip ties in a year.

Not sure if you could take a pic of the backside of the emblem, but I used to have this on my grill. I ended up using the two filled in "circular" areas where the eblem pegs used to be. After clipping my pegs off (which your emblem probable already has), I then tapped two screws into the back of these areas. They worked great for my application, and you can always double up on washers if you need it to fit tighter. I eventually went the CNC lettered route where all my letters have two drill and tap bolts in them.

My emblem had double sided tape on it. A little bit of pushing it with a screw driver from the back side and it came right off. It's sitting above my bedroom mirror now.

I had a ton of questions when building my grill and eventually the guys from custom car grills helped me. Those dudes are super helpful and friendly

Honestly I have seen many use the double sided tape to fasten the emblems to their grills. Its a good process to get the emblem on. Have any luck finding the bigger emblem you wanted originally?

It's starting to sounds like we need a forum dedicated to bad vendors. Wishing you guys that are having order issues the best of luck.

I'm reluctant on purchasing from vendors who say there is a 12 week layover. They time the anticipated availability to be beyond the usual 60-day dispute period.

I think Homer taco makes just the emblem I like. I'll probably give him a message.

Good point. They honestly should not be able to charge you until the items ship which would keep you well within your dispute window. Paypal kind of negates that process so I would always recommend using someone like Discover Card who has $0 liability fraud protection. I always use this when/if I can. In fact my Paypal account falls back on the DC so that if Paypal doesn't come through and it was processed via DC they can likely help.
