I just got my truck all set up on 16" [stock] wheels and new tires. I'll forward the info to my buddy though, I know he's casually looking around for some new ones. Good luck otherwise!

Sounds good Alex. Let him know. These are pretty dam popular wheels and in a popular color, I can't imagine I'd have a hard time finding someone. You can also direct him to this for some more pics.

Wanted to get some recommendations on tires and what has worked over the winter? Wasn't impressed with the last two sets of tires I have had, especially winter traction.

First set was Cooper AT3 that came on the truck when I bought it (stock size) and then went with a set of 265/75 16 Nitto Terra Grapplers that are load range D. Worked well enough over the summer and towing a small boat and trailer though even the traction pulling the boat out of some of the boat landings wasn't what I expected -- too much wheel spin and the traction on the roads with a couple of inches of snow wasn't what I expected based on the siping and online reviews with the Nittos. They are wearing well but the compound seems too hard.

So looking for any positive experiences to see if I can find some deals - looking for an AT tire that can handle snow but will work for towing the boat in the summer. Occasionally go up to Marinette county and drive the fireroads when camping. I find myself jumping in/out of 4WD too keep the rear tires from spinning in the winter weather and I carry about 100 lbs in the bed plus the weight of an aftermarket rear bumper.

Hankook Dynapro atm are a good value priced tire that is good in snow & rain and last forever.
Nokian rotiva's are also a good value priced, snow flake rated tire that is also a good summer tire.

Goodyear Duratracs. By far the best snow/all terrain tire I have seen. I personally don't run in, but have some friends that do. When they pass me doing 70+ mph on the freeway during heavy snow, I often question the tires that I bought lol.

I like my Duratracs and if they are too aggressive I would recommend the Toyo Open Country ATII. Both excellent tires. Toyo will be quieter and wear better but the Duratrac will handle snow better.

Would anyone be interested in doing a Tacoma/Overland meetup somewhere? Was thinking on opening it up to all makes/models, for a fun off-road type meet-up. Was thinking near the Appleton area. Anyone interested?

Sounds like something I might be interested in. I also have a friend (not on TW yet) who I could float the idea to.

Thanks for the input. Discount Tire is running their president day sale so I ordered up some Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 265/75r16 in the standard load size. They had $75 off for Falken tires, plus a $30 rebate in store and then they were willing to give me $180 for my Nitto Terra Grapplers that are on the truck. If I don't like these then I will go to the Goodyear Duratracs in load range C.

Also looking for a 5 spoke 4runner wheel to replace my spare with and Morrisons, the yard I would typically find wheels in doesn't have any and craigslist hasn't turned up anything either - if anyone has leads or another parts recycling yard let me know.

Not me, I was on shift all day. Anyone in the madison area got an icon spanner wrench? I may need to adjust my coilovers and never ordered a wrench.
