To engage the rear locker I engage 4L, depress the clutch and press the rear lock button. It has always been finicky. I exercise the components on a regular basis, but it rarely locks immediately. I have to drive back and forth 10-20 feet to make the diff lock engage. I replaced the gear oil with Amsoil today. It didn't seem to help.

Has anyone else noticed this issue and found resolution? Is it normal?

I have never had an issue getting mine to engage or disengage, I might have to move slightly but never 10 or 20 feet, you may wanna have the dealer take a look.

When your moving back and forth turn slightly so the rear axles are not rolling at the same rate. If the splines are not in alignment for the locker to engage they wont line up any better if axles are turning in the same rotation.

It helps to be in uneven terrain, it's easy to engage when you actually need it. Trying it just to see if it works on flat ground is where you'll have trouble.

    No, only 4 Lo.

The instructions are by the door handle, and further 4x4 instructions are on the sun visor. :)

E-Lockers are never instant and can take some fighting. Mine can engage in 2 seconds or 2 minutes.
