I'm looking at selling my Tacoma and was wondering what you guys would think would be a fair price.

2001 Toyota Tacoma Limited TRD Off-road DCSB 4x4
    214k Miles
    Frame replaced in Feb 2014
    TRD Supercharger
    URD 2.2 Pulley
    URD Crank Pulley
    URD 7th Injector Kit
    Doug Thorley Headers
    Manga flow exhaust
EDGE CTS w/ Fuel Pressure and Boost sensor running to it
Innovate Motor Sports AFR Sensor / Gauge
TRD FJ Cruiser wheels in black
King EXT travel coil overs up front
    Icon UCA
Icon 0-3" rear shocks with resi's
    Deaver Leafs
Dyna matted interior with Alpine 6 1/2" Type R's in door
Alpine head unit with alpine 45W x 4 amp

There are a few more things here and there but that's the jist of it all. The truck runs excellent and I drive it every day. I've driven it across the country from Texas to North Dakota on well more than one occasion, and other than the frame being replaced, the only other time it's been in for a repair was for the knock sensors.

I'm in the market for a new 4Runner and talked to my local dealer today. They offered me $7k for the Tacoma on trade but that seems a little low. Just wanted to get your guys take on it and see if it's a fair offer. I realize that they have to leave some room for them to make money, but at the same time, I don't need them making a killing off me either.

Id take no less than 10k for a dealer trade. They can make money if they get that truck for 10k easy

I would consider $10k. I just really started shopping around for a vehicle, and really don't want to trade it in due to a dealer not giving me very much for it. I know to most people they would see it as a fair price, but those people aren't Toyota Enthusiasts like ourselves. I know how hard these trucks are to find and then having everything that I've done it, I'd like to try and at least recoup some of my losses.

757, i assumed that 7k wasn't a decent offer, but then again, I haven't shopped it around so I had nothing to base the decision off of.

Personally if its in good shape and taken care off (has service records) id have no problem paying 13-14k maybe even 15k for that truck. I love 1st gens though so take that with a grain of salt haha

It's in good shape for 2001 with 200k miles. It has a few rock chips here and there (I work in the oilfield so lots of rocky roads), but mechanically it's sound. When I did the suspension i even replaced spindles, bearings, hubs and all on the front end. Everything works with the 4wd and rear locking diff. I drive the truck every day and i have done all of the regular maintenance.

Yup, that's at least a $14k truck in AZ, and you could probably hold out for a little more.

nice, 7k is a rip-off, if it were in mo I would give you the 10k quoted earlier, with the mods it;s a steal. Not seeing pics thisis of course all speculation

A few years back, I traded my 03 trd offroad 4x, xcab, v6 manual, 160ish k miles to a dealer for my 12 taco. I had bilstein 5100s, 265 BFG ko, arb bumper and camper shell. Truck was in great shape mechanically, same deal as you I did all of the regular maintenance and then some. They initially offered me like 7k. I laughed and said I'll take 10.5k. They laughed, I walked, they came back and gave me that with little argument. Looking back, I could have probably gotten more for it. Your truck sounds very nice, I wouldnt take less than 11 for it, and I would start higher than that if going with a dealer. Good luck

If you want to sell the 7th injector :) Seriously nice truck, I do not think you will have any issue getting more money out of it

I'd pull the charger and 7th off and sell them. It'll take less than an hour and they go like hot cakes, $2,500 for them. You could probably get 12 for the rest. It's hard to ask $14,000 for a high miles Tacoma, after market mods mean very little to 95% of the market. The closer you can get it to stock the more money you'll make. You could pop the front coilovers off and swap them with used stockers and make $500 easy. Same with the rear setup, another $500 profit. The truck would still sell for $12,000.

I may end up going this route. I honestly think that It would be easier to sell this way. I could ask less for the truck making it easier for someone to purchase and then could part the rest of the stuff out. Just need to find some good used stock suspension stuff at this point then. I have everything needed to swap the supercharger out, but the truck came with OME suspension when I bought it, which has been sold so I never had any stock suspension stuff.

    Sell privately. That's easily $15,000
