So quick update: that parts truck I bought was probably the most loaded single cab I've ever seen. What a Unicorn!?! Here's some of the stuff that came on it:

    1) v6 5 speed
    2) locking rear diff
    3) center console
    4) bucket seats
    5) tilt column
    6) tach
    7) clock
    8) intermittent windshield wipers
    9)power windows
    10) power locks
    11)alloy wheels
    12) factory Toyota alarm

It's hella rare to find a single cab v6 4x4 out there (2.5 years only), but I have never seen a Tacoma pre 1998 with the e locker.

I hope to gain most of these things when I swap the v6 into mine. I want to argue that I will have the most loaded (with factory options) first gen single cab on this page.

Can't wait to see the results. I'm obsessed with 1st gen single cabs.

WHOA a 96 with tilt steering column and intermittent wipers?!? This I've never heard of. Most people think the locker started in 98 with TRD, but the locker has been offered since 95.5, just uncommon to find one.

I was shocked at some of the features. Can't wait to make my truck a unicorn.

It's possible. Hard to miss. I live in Lakewood, but work in commerce city. I also have friends near highlands ranch. It's possible that you've seen it any where around there...or at car shows/cars and coffee events.
