Hi everyone, I just ordered my wheel bearings and lower control arms for both sides in the front of my 2006 Tacoma. My mechanic told me my control arms bushings were bad but he said most likely my ball joints were too, due to my lift, so I bought the entire control arm. I am just wondering how much should I expect to pay in labor for my wheel bearings and control arms replacement? I am doing both all at once so it should be cheaper since he just have to take everything apart once right?

    Thanks in advance

Since everything is already apart I would have to say you're probably looking around $400 for everything. That's a ballpark figure but you can also call and ask for estimates from other shops too. You may have to factor in an alignment once the UCA are installed also .

If they are seized they can be right awful to remove, saws-all and many beers, I wouldn't want to cut one out at home.

I would agree that most people who have semi mechanical knowledge could but the issue would be wether the member has the proper tools

There is a guy on the marketplace called Bamatoys who sells bearing / hub assemblies. He does things like popping the seals and adding extra grease. I really like his product, and it makes bearing replacement a snap. Even if you prefer that a mechanic do the work, having those hubs will make the mechanic bill far smaller (or should), and you will get a better bearing replacement job.

Just got mine back from dealer from having both jobs done on passenger side only. Lower control arm/ ball joint went first and it was $370 in labor and then the wheel bearing failed and it was $360 in labor. Good luck with the repairs!

Thanks for all the great responses. I just got quoted by a shop $350 to do both sides (control arms and bearings). I am going to keep calling around and see if I can find any better deals. I been seeing that these bearings and control arms have to be pressed. I have some concern that the shop I am going to take it don't have a presser; Would the work they give me be less of quality and that's why they're charging me less?

I don't know if it would be less quality unless you maybe taking it to some pop shop or something but maybe they don't know the full scoop on it. I think with labor rates though 350 could be your average price

Buy the wheel bearings already pressed in.
