I recently had my transmission, and front and rear differential fluids replaced. Now, I see mention made of transfer case fluid replacement. Is that something totally different from the others mentioned, or simply another term used for them? Thanks in advance.

The transfer case is another unit.

Transfer case uses the same driveline fluid as the front and rear differentials. It's attached to the transmission and distributes power to the front and rear axles.

Thank you all. But, based upon the responses I've received, apparently, I need to now have the transfer case fluids replaced? I have 60k miles. Again, thanks for the assistance.

Transfer case is super easy just pick up some Mobil 1 and a small pump they sell them at any oreilly or autozone. Pump screws right onto the bottle so you can pump it up into the case.

Transfer Case Oil: Mobil 1 75W-90
    • Fill Plug Torque Specification: 27 ft. lbs.
    • Drain Plug Torque Specification: 27 ft. lbs.
Take ya a half hour. Take the fill plug off before the drain plug and your good. Stop filling with oil when it starts to spill out of the fill plug hole

I changed mine at a little over 25k and it looked brand new. I think the t-case holds about a quart.
