I didn't know I needed to be qualified to make a strongly expressed opinion on a forum built off of sarcasm. I'm more perplexed on the fact that you give a shit. I'm not going to argue w/ you over someone else's truck on a public forum as it's embarrassing. If I had said something to offend you, then we can address it when and if we meet in person. I'm sure the day will come at some point. We'll talk about it then..

Depending on how you use your truck. I'd say 456. Of you just daily drive it. 488 if you tow, carry extra weight,

I think you just rubbed some the wrong way by saying that if they don't mod their truck the way you think it should be done it's a joke. That's all. Honestly? I too thought it was a silly thing to say.

To follow your logic about being perplexed that Jon would give a shit. Why would you think anyone would give a shit about your opinion? The question was about gears.

Certainly NOT looking to get into an internet pissing match about it.

This forum is not BASED in sarcasm. I believe that it's a place for like minded, or in this case not so like minded I guess, people to talk, compare, and to help one another. There just happens to be a nice layer of sarcasm on top of that.

For a group of guys that know each other to sarcastically bust balls is one thing. To post that what a guy is trying to do is a joke? Kind of dick move.

I'm sorry for being a dick. However my opinion of 4.88 and duragrip stands.

Open diff for 37's and you won't have to worry about calling a tow truck.

Typically open diffs are best for street driving. Unless you need extra traction for launches, and Tacos are not race cars. ARB is the most invisible traction aid on the market. There when you want, and not there when you don't. Any LSD is a compromise.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
What are you using your truck for is the big question to determine what rear end to accompany your large tires. Logically I don't see how an LSD will help you in turns with that large of a tire. Are you trying to do burnouts in your turns? If you are merely using your truck for show, I'd say go with what ever gear ratio and locker/LSD. If you plan on taking your truck off road, go with 4.88 gears, or preferably 5.29 gears and an ARB air locker. That combo in my opinion would be better than having 4wd in some cases. Still would like to hear the main purpose of you truck.

I think you are confused as to what a locker or LSD actuals does, and what the benefits of them are. The best differential for street use is an OPEN diff. A low torque bias LSD would be damn near invisible during street driving, but only slightly more capable than an open diff off road. If you do little or no off-road driving, just get an open diff and new gears, and enjoy.

ARB's are never locked until you engage them. It's an OPEN diff when not engaged. When engaged - it's 100% locked ALL the time (dangerous to drive on road with it engaged).

An LSD will always disengage during turns because the wheels are going at different speeds and distance of each other. Take notice to his comments about making turns at the end.

Just daily driven and show, sometimes I like to have a little fun and give it more gas then needed in turns and when I do that I hate peg legging

You're never gonna get what you're looking for. If you're hoping to get sideways in some turns, regear with open diffs and turn your traction control off. With 37" IROKs, I doubt you'll ever see spinning tires even with 4.88 gears, but you'll bounce the shit out of your truck as it grabs traction every other lug (ask me how I know). If you're gonna throw a locker in there, just put an ARB in and be done with it. Seeing as how you don't take it off road I honestly wouldn't waste the money on any sort of locker. Again, traction control is whats inhibiting you from any antics you might be wanted to have, a locker is just a great recipe for grenading your diff if you're trying to use it on the road.

    I'll weigh in here...
    Gears
Do not get anything lower than 4.88 or you will regret it. Most of the guys running 35" tires already make the leap to 4.88 so 37" tires (5.7% larger circumference) would absolutely need 4.88 or higher. At 70mph that puts your engine turning at 2234 RPMs vs the stock tire and gears that yield 2063 RPM at 70mph. So you'll get the mechanical advantage of an extra 171rpm to go the same speed and push the heavier tires. The 4.56 gears would put you almost exactly to stock gearing but you'll still be at a disadvantage considering the extra weight.

    Open or LSD or Locker
Do NOT get an ARB or locking diff. It is ONLY useful offroad for when one of your wheels has zero traction. It's also the most expensive option and requires you to install an onboard air system in addition to the locking diff. Expect the ARB locker and air system to run you about $1500-$1700. The Detroit TruTrac is a GREAT option if you think you need LSD. It's about $600 if I remember correctly. No air system needed and automatic engagement. Plenty strong too. Leaving it open is another option as it's free and it sounds like you won't be offroad much if ever. I've tackled pretty incredible stuff in my TRD Sport with open diffs. Your weakness will be that it's only two wheel drive, not your open diff.
