Just wanted to know if anyone has had this issue with there trucks. My truck is a 2010 double cab TRD v6. It has 61000 on it. Here is the issue when at a complete stop at a light the truck lurches forward a little like you got tapped in the rear bumper. Also when I release the brakes it feels like something is loose. Lastly when stopped for an length of time the truck feels like the brakes loose pressure and it starts rolling forward but reapply brakes and it stops. Just wanted some input on this. My Chevy Tahoe did the lurching thing and the dealer told me it was a trans problem.

Lurching is normal. Nothing wrong. As for brakes, could be related to the lurch. If rpms increase a bit while sitting, the same brake pressure may not be enough to hold you in place.

Normal. Increased revs with climate control kicking on a/c compressor for defrost/ac.

What is the cause of the lurching. Is it just the truck releasing the load from braking

Ok. I just wanted to make sure it was not a serious problem. They told me when it was doing it my Tahoe I would have to get my trans rebuilt.

It's just the powerful 2nd gen 4.0L. I'm sure the 3rd gen doesn't do it

Ya that motor is really quick and has a lot of torque compared to my V8 Tahoe. I think this truck is way faster.

This^^^^ Do yourself a favor and re-torque your U-bolts. I cranked the piss out of mine.

Axle wrap. Has been discussed a dozen times before. Same symptom as you are having. Caused by crappy leaf springs. Google Tacoma axle wrap and start reading.
