Been over flowing my brain with ls tech all week and I'm now more conflicted than ever before. A turbo'd 4.8 sounds like the best pick for my needs. I'm thinking it will get the best mpg which sounds silly but I personally could never drive a car that had poor economy even if it's performance oriented. The 6.0 just sounds like a behemoth. Higher power but terrible economy and just an all around monster. The 5.3 seems appealing as well, from what I gather it's a stroked 4.8 so hp is similar but has more torque which would be ideal for turning big tires and low end response needed in a lot of 4 wheeling situations. I don't plan on ever going over 35" though so I wonder how much the extra torque will actually help vs hurt mpg's. Just thinking out loud here.

well if you had the right gearing, the 5.3 could push our truck at 80mph at 1200rpm all day. You'd get pretty damn good MPG..lol If this swap goes well, i'll look for an L33 5.3L which is the all Aluminum 5.3L. It would go up to the HP levels as an iron block but it'll be light. And you can still get 400-480hp NA with it reliably. Mate it ton an NV4500 and with a 0.85 Overdrive gear with 4.10 diffs with 35'' tires..would cruise along.

All of this is mute until i see the exhaust work go smooth. I have yet to see a V8 swap handle the headers cleanly and without a Body Lift..

also you crack me up. Went from TRD blower, to turbo and now thinking turbo V8 haha

Be tight getting a turbo in there with the V8..
