Is it possible to pull the TWCOHAM spreadsheet into CHIRP and simply apply it to the radio that way? I tried to open the excel file in CHIRP and it gave me a bunch of symbols and errors.

Pull your stock configuration. Save it as stock. Then import from the csv. Load that configuration on to your radio.

Importing the file works. Copy and paste never worked for me. Did you get it up and running?

Yep! Copy and paste didn't work for me either, I had to import the CSV file then upload it to the radio like Eric explained. Pretty simple and straight forward. Kind of surprised me how easy it is if you already have a pre-built file :cookiemonster:

    Yes.
Just make sure y'all know how to use the VFO to use a frequency/repeater/whatever that wasn't pre-programmed.

And the Baofeng manuals are nice in this regard, simple 28 step process or something with step by step instructions.

Every swap meet I went to was a bunch of dusty old stuff with unknown condition, parts missing, or over priced. I went to two and dealt with a couple old codgers and decided I'm better off at a field day where there is something to do besides these guys worrying if they will sell enough crap to pay for the table

Did not get that feeling from this one in terms of the people. Plenty of dusty old stuff though and some new or newer stuff in the mix. Hell the booth I worked, we sold 2 Kenwood dual bands, a Yaesu 2m, some Baofeng stuff, and some LED flashlights. It was a decent day.

Also found out about another one in Longmont on 4/1/17. They will be offering testing at that one. I will be there to take the test.

    Was that english? :anonymous:

I found my chirp cable, was able to figure out how to download the settings from the stock radio, but the upload to radio button is greyed out.

I used 'open' to open up the file, and it uploads the TW file, but wont let me upload to the radio. I tried copy/paste but it doesnt paste anything into Chirp.

What am I doing wrong? Of course, after I get it programmed, I probably wont know how to use all the programmed channels.

So I think I figured it out... I was trying to copy the TW spreadsheet in excel, and paste into Chirp which didnt work. I then copied from the tab it after loading it in Chirp and then was able to paste it in what I downloaded from the radio tab. And it let me upload that to the radio. :bananadance:

Next step.. learning to use this new found channel setup. Guess I should do my other radio as well. And download those speadsheets to the tablet.

Yeah thanks, I realized I needed to copy/paste from within Chirp.

When it pasted, it looked like it changed some of the columns but they seem to be all there.

I'll grab the other one from the truck shortly and try it on that one and make sure it works.
