    Why not just replace the rusty skid with new metal? Or is there something I'm missing? For example, Cody's skid is barely hanging on because it is so rusty, would make more sense to just pull it, trash it, and fab a new piece.

    Found a shop to do the powder coat but I'm traveling Sunday night - Thursday for work so won't get to drop it off until Friday. Once I get it back from them I'll schedule install with you!

    Also I went to put my bed cover back on and I have a spinning bolt in place so will want to pick your brain on getting that thing out. The nut and insert are both spinning

    Mines holding on fine it's just beat up. Was just gonna cut some 3/8 plate to about fit, put some perpendicular tabs on and try welding it to my existing skid. If it ruins it I buy a new skid if it works then hell yeah

    3/8" is huge, try 3/16" first. But truthfully for the gas tank, you could probably be fine with 1/8".
