Best bolt on rock slider

Bolt on is nice for the fact that you can easily remove/install with basic hand tools. Weld on is typically a stronger option. For the average guy do weekend trips here and there, bolt on is enough.

As for steel, the outer hoop can be offered in HREW or DOM. DOM is far superior than HREW in regards to dents and we use DOM as a standard.

 

Any rock slider is better than no rock slider.

 

CBI makes a good product, I have their bolt-on sliders with kick-out.

 

I have MarshallFab sliders and really like them.

I've lifted the truck up with my HiLift using the sliders without any trouble.
Installation wasn't very difficult. I didn't have to drill any holes, take off any factory bolts, or rivets.

Yah on kickout IMO for rocks and idiots who park their vehicles too close or their shopping carts.

If looking for a good slider you should go DOM. HREW is weaker, and if the goal of a slider is to take impact, you want stronger, DOM. While wanting it to be as strong as possible, I also want it to be as light as possible.

All Pro made DOM full length channel sliders while being the lightest weight DOM slider. You can see my write up here:

All Pro does require frame drilling. If that is something you do not want to do, I would look at the DOM Mobtowns.

 

I assume you're talking about the bolt that is vertically orientated. It's clamping down on the lip of the frame rail, it's on as tight as I could get it. Maybe a bit over-tightened, but very secure!

My only complaint about CBI products is the lack of good instructions. Had the same issue with Mobtown products. Mostly good products, but I hate having to guess how and where things go together.
