Wow buddy! you got me a little stumped on this one. Because ya, by the numbers, you would think that you should have a little more out of the scope. If your not going to shoot past a 1000 yards, then its of course fine. But damn it! I'm going to have to do some home work on this one.

Yeah I'm really wanting to push the rifle to 1500 and beyond if I get the chance. Maybe I mile just to say I did.

My zero is at 100 yards.

This is just an honest question. I don't mean anything derogatory buy it,but if you were wanting to go out to 1500 yards, why did you buy a scope with only 65 minutes of total angle? You will need approximately 59 minutes of angle in order to get out to 1500 yards as you know. Might I suggest these rings,

    http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/767945/burris-xtreme-tactical-signature-picatinny-style-rings-matte?cm_mmc=pf_ci_google-_-Optics - Scope Rings, Bases, Mounting & Accessories-_-Burris-_-767945&gclid=CJ6i4L_AnNICFVG1wAodH2cIrA

If you shop around, you can probably find them a little cheaper.

These rings are adjustable from zero, all the way to -40 minutes, and you will still probably have to use some of your vertical mill dots to achieve the rest, (in other words, you'll be fully doping your scope full ability)

P.S. remember, the more you cant, the more you have to go up to clear the rail.

I got the Viper because it was in my price range and I didn't know any better at the time I was actually thinking about buying a replacement rail for the gun. I can replace the 20 moa with a 40 moa. With the scope at the highest magnification level I will still have 22 moa of holdover with the reticle.

Please don't miss read me, your scope is a great scope, it was my original choice, but ended up going the Burris route. I only ask because the tube diameter limits the MOA, and yes, that is a good direction to go, now you will just have to utilize the other equipment out there in order to be able to achieve your. minutes.

No I understand. If I didn't get such a great deal on this one I probably would have ended up with the Burris or a buddies Razor. But I didn't know a lot about how much internal travel I would need. If I went with the new base I would end up with 52 moa up and only 13 down. But with the 52 of adjustment and 22 of holdover I would end up with 74 moa total. Looking at strelok with factory load information I would need 66.1 moa to reach 1500.

I ended up paying around 700. And right now I'm using the Hornady 140 grain ELD Match. I am going to start handloading though.

Yeah, your altitude must be much different than mine. Ironically as we talk, I am setting up to do my final hundred yard zero in, on my range, because the temperature is finally warm enough. I've done 2 soft zero in's and now this is my final.

Sorry about the garbled response, didn't see that it got all screwed up.

what app is that? Also, what the heck would cause a pistol to shoot 1.5ft low at 50ft? the barrel isnt bent as its a semi-auto and i would assume the slide would be binding if that was the case, i had it apart today to clean before a range day tomorrow and measured everything, the slide seems square and isnt bent/deformed. and it shot that low between three people, so i would assume its not a grip/shooter issue
