I had 4 wheel parts install the kit so not sure the exact part # but I believe they said it was the procomp trans drop from their 6" kit. It got my operating angle for my first u joint coming out of the trans to around 1 degree, which is what spicer calls for on a two piece shaft.

My truck has 117k miles, so I decided to order 3 spicer u-joints and the spicer carrier bearing, since I got a good deal on it all. Figure I will drive the truck with the driveshaft out first before I replace anything to see if the vibe is still there. If I replace all three of them and still have problems, the only thing left is a driveline spacer. The weird thing is my truck was fine for the first 6 months after putting on the 5100's.

New everything on the drive line wont solve your problem, that's exactly what I did and it changed nothing, neither did adding a spacer kit.
A 1 piece drive line is said too be the only fix.

I have read that people that did a one piece drive shaft still have vibrations. I really don't want to go to a one piece shaft. I think my next step after this will be shims if this doesn't fix it. It's all about angles, but it doesn't make sense why mine was fine for so long. My carrier bearing seems bad, so I figure why I have it off, might as well do u joints for another 75 bucks. Maybe I will get lucky. Ha

Did replacing those parts help with anything? Where do you have your vibes at? How much lift do you have?

I'm fighting this same issue with an 05 with a OME Lift, Dakar Leafs, OME CB drop kit, + 1/8" steel spacers with the OME's stacked. Just received TT 3 deg shims today and will install and report back hopefully tomorrow.

I've heard that with StreetTacos CB drop kit and shims have worked for some as well.

I've considered the ECGS bearing but my issue doesn't go away with 4x, so there's that.

I agree with getting a angle finder and diagnosing how your driveline currently setup and why it's doing it. Don't do what I have been doing which is buying the next part and hoping that it works. I'll report to this thread as well with what I try.

middle and rear u joint angle need to match so that they cancel eachother... Front shaft/tranny joint should basically have no angle or like .5 degrees. So if you drop the carrier, you just changed that angle and made things worse... in theory. Get the two rear angles to match each other with the all vehicle weight on the suspension and on flat ground. Just installing random shims and hoping it will work can be counterproductive because you may be going to far one direction or the other. Get an angle finder and measure the angles,

Wouldn't it be better to split the difference in angles between 3 set of u joints instead of two hence the CB Drop?

    But regardless will try tomorrow!

axle wrap under acceleration gets the angles doin lots of weird stuff too. And higher rear lift causes even more axle wrap, therefore having even more affect on the angles.. So you gotta kinda find the mid point of how much the angles change during acceleration.. Have fun!

Makes sense, I'll report with my findings. Thanks for the encouragement!

It helped just a little bit, cannot really tell where all the vibs are coming from,I had vibs even before my 2.5 inch lift was installed on my 2006 Tacoma.I am going too have the ECGS bushing put in my trucks front diff soon, will let you know if that takes any of the vibs away.

with 3 different angles, the one in the middle would be trying to cancel out both ends.. Which isn't going to work. Without the CB drop,, nothing happens at the front.. So the only vibes should be generated from the rear two angles. Now doing a trans drop AND a carrier drop will keep that front angle the same while making the two rear angles smaller overall.. But you can kinda see why most people get no benefit from just a carrier drop.. or no change. And many don't recommend it.. At least from what ive read on here.. But.... Just so you know, I haven't went through this yet.. This is just what ive gathered from watching various videos and reading articles about driveline angles and vibrations
