As a Pro owner I do not fall in the same category as @PROseur. He likes to assume we are all like him which is very far from the truth.

I am disappointed with the tranny/engine combo but if I needed a truck I would buy another Tacoma. If I didn't need a truck and a SUV would work I would buy a T4R Pro.

First Tacoma was a base model access cab 4x4. Did the family mod so I bought a DCSB off-road the second time and am much happier with it.

Zero regrets. This is my 4th Tacoma. Sure I wish I had more power (we all do) but it work great for me. Pretty much an unstoppable all around truck with the best resale.

    +1.

I'm really enjoying my truck these last few days (after the ECGS bushing and fix of the vibrations introduced by my high rear-end lift).

The only thing I would have (probably*) preferred is a double-cab, long-bed Off Road, but that's not available in Canada, so it's a moot point. Sport does the trick for me.

(Probably* = would need to test drive and see if I can live with the way the Off Road handles its hill-assist feature. From the sounds of it, it could be the kind of thing that would drive my OCD up the wall.)

If I had to do it all over again, I'd have gone with a different canopy and different suspension, though.

If I didn't have a large dog, I'd have gotten a 4Runner or an older LandCruiser.

Yes, I would buy again. Once the trip meter was replaced it lives up to my expectations as has all my previous Toyota vehicles.

I'm not sure as far as 3rd gens go, but 2nd gens I would say yes. Want to get a 2nd one (regular cab) for a second built eventually

Absolutely. I would get the Pro over the OR though. Only because I'm halfway to making my OR look like a Pro and it would have been cheaper to get the Pro. Went with OR because I really wanted a sunroof.

I'd buy again. Traded my 98 Tacoma access cab on a F150 three years ago and questioned my decision almost immediately. Thought I needed a bigger truck to haul my toys around. Found myself longing to get back in a Tacoma. Jumped into a TRDOR access cab and haven't looked back.

    No.

Many issues with my 2017 that Toyota will not fix
    Fuel mileage unacceptable
    Powertrain and transmission terrible

    Great looking truck though.

I might "downgrade" to a DCLB 2nd gen if a good deal arises.

2nd gen mainly because it would be a little less painful on the wallet... I don't really have any actual 3rd Gen Gripes besides the gear-hunting.

I'M getting the MGM off road just like you, knowing what you know about your truck if you had a choice AT or MT ? I'm feeling better reading about the S mode manual shifter. Do you use yours? Thanks for the info. I'm happy to hear your enjoying your truck.

Pop-n-lock tailgate. New radio knobs. Rear step.
If I could do it again today, it would be a tossup between the 4Runner and the long bed version of my truck.

We got a dog this past year and she'd probably be more comfortable in the back of a 4Runner. Right now she fights the two kids for space in the back seat of the truck. However, the truck bed has been really handy and I'm reluctant to give it up. If I got the truck, I'd get the same one but go long bed and get a topper/shell for camping.

Edit: Note that I would get the same truck only because there is nothing better out there right now that would fit in my garage. I'm no fan of the driveline.

If I did , it would have to have the 6 spd manual, and stick a V-8 in the
Bitch and I'm sold, and a better radio would be nice something that cranks !!!

Would buy again. Got tired of full size trucks. Because of the size, this truck is better around town and running the forest roads. Still pulls my small travel trailer ok with this motor and tranny.
