I only found spots for 5 1/2x1.5 bolts along the frame (not including the front legs), so I used 12 total (of 16 packed). Doubt it's going to go anywhere, but I can't see where the extra bolt goes on either side. Attached are pics of driver side.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I can see one that your missing right above that lower bolt on the frame inside the crossmember there should be a spot for one more.

I'll check it again later, by I'm fairly certain there is solid frame behind it.

So the hole on the left is frame, right is the for brake lines I believe. Am I supposed to relocate that bracket?

Passenger side holes are too small for the bolts. I have three openings, but they won't fit through.

Right in the middle of those 4 rivets there should be another hole I'm pretty sure i can see it in the picture but i can't tell for sure.

In your install pics I see that there should be a hole there in mine, but that's frame for me.

Only thing in the directions missing is removing the sticker and plastic plug that sits flush with the frame in the front for the boxed in section. I didn't catch it on the driver side and used a punch to knock holes through both. Passenger side was way easier haha

Really? That's odd every single tacoma I have seen has a hole there. And the truck in the OP is a 2016 maybe it's odd that it's not on yours. Maybe they did mid year change on the frames in 2016.

Can you take a shot of inside that crossmember? I'd like to see the back side of the frame.

Drivers side. Parked on top of my roommate m currently, I'll get passenger side shots later. There are holes lined up on that side, but the larger bolts don't feed through.

It must be a mid year change on removing that hole I don't think the 2017's have it as well.

Yeah didn't figure it was a huge deal, but I didn't have a panic attack when I had a few extra bolts and no where to put them.

For those curious about difficulty of installing yourself, it's not bad. Using a clamp on the crossmember will save you a lot of frustration. I installed these with a few sockets and a crescent wrench without jack stands.

Finally got around to installing these things and they are sweet!IMG_0777.jpgFew questions on the install just to make sure I did everything correctly. For the long bed how many total bolts are on each side? Right now I counted 9 per side but still have extra bolts here:IMG_0789.jpgI can't seem to find anywhere else for these bolts, especially the long ones. Is there supposed to be one on the bottom next to the factory crossmember bolt:IMG_0778.jpgOr this looked like a spot for one but it's just solid frame behind the opening to the left and the bolts don't fit through the other two:IMG_0787.jpgFinally, just wanted to make sure these brake lines look ok to you, the bracket seemed very close to the bolt and wasn't sure if rubbing is an issue:IMG_0785.jpgThanks!

The long ones should be in the rear of the slider if you have a 2010+ truck the others might of just been extra that lower hole pictured is for the crossmember it's in that location on the 2WD.

Been debating on weld on or bolt on. After seeing this, I may have to get the bolt on. Pretty slick setup with the mounting plates.

Do this before taking out the bottom bolt, so you won't mess up the bolt when taking it out. Please see picture. I did not and bolt seems a little damaged but useable.

Does this look acceptable? I just changed the angle a little bit so the black box could fit. The bolt helped to push the bracket a little.

That should be fine we normally recommend moving it forward but that is fine as well it's just a plug and a bracket.

    Hi Jerry,

What is the recommendation for those of us where this hole didn't exist? Okay to have the sliders installed without this bolt? Do we need to drill the frame? other alternatives?

I have a 2017 and want to know what the recommendation is for when I install mine.

Don't worry about it the hole in question is in the center of the frame there is still plenty of bolts attaching the sliders to the truck. If you really want too you can drill the frame but I wouldn't worry about it.

Your sliders will be good with the holes your frame has. I slammed mine off a rock on the boxed portion close to the frame. Zero movement, barely any break through the powder coat.
