has anyone heard of the check engine light coming on after getting new tires? I don't think that's even possible, is it? Tires affecting the engine light. I would understand the tire pressure sensor light, but the check engine light...

They are not that much bigger. Same size as my other ones, just a lot knobbier.

Any info would be great. I guess I'll have to check the code tomorrow. I don't have an OBD computer. Thinking of getting a scanner thing too just for this reason.

I did go mudding yesterday after I got the new tires. Excercised the four high and low as normal procedure. Nothing different. Wondering if it's coincidental or if it has to do with the new tires.

Definitely coincidence as far as tires go. Maybe the wheeling caused something.

Not the maintenance light. I see that in the dash not lit. It's the check engine light.

Not likely at all. Buy a cheap scanner or get a Part Source to scan it for you.

Yeah. I got the truck used about 8 months ago with 113,000 on it. I have put 13,000 miles on it without an issue. It's been a great workhorse and been awesome so far.

Most of the codes I see on 12-15 taco's is for the stupid air injection. I pray it's something simple.

Thanks for the info. Anything helps. Last truck was a first gen 99 Tacoma that took a shit at 343,000 on the original
Motor and second clutch. Never had one issue. Had it for 17 years

One thing I did notice is my traction control light doesn't work now. I'm taking it to pep boys to get the code checked later today.

Would the traction control light not working have something to do with the check engine light. I read some stuff in here about the traction control light staying on and the check engine light coming on. But seems my traction control light doesn't work when pushing the button now.

Check to see that all 4 tires are the same size. If they grabbed one incorrect one you would get check engine lights and codes for wheel speed sensors. Happened on my mom's car.

10 bucks says they hit an abs line and killed an abs sensor.
