So are those the best or most effective LT boots?

 

Yep. The fins are spread out more so they have less tendency to rub on eachother and rip open lol. I'm going to run the stock tundra CV's for now and upgrade to nicer ones later.

 

As for progress, swapped rear tires and loaded it up on the trailer. Not the easiest to get up the ramp with bald mini tires and 2wd LOL. Then put it back in the driveway. Trailer conveniently inverted a shackle so fixed that. BTW it scared the crap out of me when it did it because it was loud and I thought a leaf broke haha. Then dropped the gas tank and driveshaft in record time.

Had to remove the new crossmember because it was right where the new spring mounts needed to go. Derp

 

Exhaust got cut off. Also ground down/cut the welds holding on the front hangers almost to the end to speed up the process. Should hopefully get everything welded this week.

 

I went through the whole thread trying to figure out what you were doing about CVs. Here it is on the very last page. Looks good so far!

 

Sorry about that! Yep just doing the Porsche boots on Tundra axles for now thanks!


As for the rest of you we tried to get the welding done before dads surgery but didn't get a chance. So now we're in a lull until he heals up a little more.

I'm eager to get it going so it's hard to be patient lol

Don't worry, still alive. Waiting on space to open at the shop. I did buy two more axle straps though for trailering. Had two for the back but got some for the front.

Thanks. He's getting there slowly. He's Going totally stir crazy since he can't work on anything.

 

Just to hold you guys over, took the bedside off to do a minor repair today. Ignore the mess, joys of a car port lol

 

So any thoughts on what kind of bumper your considering. Plate, tube or Hybrid.... just curious. I know it's probaly a long ways down the road.

 

The only first gen baja bumper I can find that also holds a winch is the All-Pro one. So I'll most likely being getting that.

 

Friday there should start to be more action in here. Scheduled to get my stuff welded on in the rear

 

Did this last weekend. We got my bedside repaired, fiberglass had some damage from shipping, not too bad, but our first attempt at fixing didn't hold up. Tried again with some other stuff and it turned out great. Quite the pain in the butt getting the holes lined back up to the bed

No pic of the bed but I set my front fenders back on just to stare at it lol. Should be making more progress on it at the end of next week.
