I loved being a barback, made mounds of cash and uncle sam didn't get a penny. Got laid, BJ's in the beer cooler, free drinks etc. Definitely the most fun job I ever had. On the best nights I would walk with the same money as the bartenders 4,5,$600 a night was not unheard of.

What did you make? My hourly wage is $10 an hour, and there have been times when I've worked 35-50 hours a week so you do the math, and that doesn't include the tipouts and cash bonuses. This is in addition to the extra money I make hauling stuff for friends with my truck. I also get plenty of free drinks.

First time I ever barbacked (not just at the bar where I work now but EVER), it was in either 2013 or 2014 (probably 2014 but BEFORE I actually started working there). I showed up with the intention of hanging out with friends and drinking, and on that same night one barback was sick and another was on vacation. The female bar manager was bartending downstairs, and one of the younger guys (3 years younger than me) was bartending on the patio. It was a slow night, but they were still making money and needed a third pair of hands. I started running food orders, filling ice, and doing all the usual barback stuff. Both bartenders gave me $5 each from their tips, which considering that it was a slow night and I worked for less than 2 hours, wasn't bad at all. That $10 meant I could pay admission to a car show and buy a pretzel without asking my parents for money.

Oh I hear you there. And even if you're exclusive with you're girlfriend, don't go bareback in your Tacoma unless it's a Limited with leather seats!

I wouldn't risk my job and get a BJ in the beer cooler. That's another thing the Tacoma's useful for...

Actually I've said this before. I don't think anybody larger than Verne Troyer would be able to go missionary in a regular cab Tacoma... An access cab or double cab with the seat reclined for sure...

I have not gotten a BJ... In the Tacoma;) However, that's about as far as I'm willing to go.

You're talking to the guy who freaked out when his boss's dog got carsick and puked in his truck. I can proudly say I've done far more than simply hooking up with women (I know guys with Asperger's OLDER than me who have never even KISSED a girl), but if I wanted to get laid in a vehicle I'd rent one... Even the best detailing job just can't get certain things out of the seat if you know what I mean...

I make $10 an hour...? And while that $10 an hour is before taxes, that does not include the tipouts and other cash bonuses I make at Puck or cash from the non-Puck hauling jobs I take on with my Tacoma. I also invest the money I make. I have Asperger's, but my goal is to break the stereotype people have of even the highest-functioning AS individuals. I already pay my own insurance on the Tacoma and all that stuff, and intend on getting my own apartment by the summer of 2019 (by which time I'll be 30; could be sooner than that). One of my good friends AS not only got his own apartment at 26 (he's 30 now), but he has his own car, a hot girlfriend, and a great job as a peer mentor working with people like him. He is about to get certified to work with drug addicts too. He's also one hell of a guitar player. He is who I want to be like, minus the guitar playing.

Sadly, people like us are not the type of people often associated with the autism stereotype...

I also told my boss (the general manager; then just a really good friend who also hooked me up with free drinks and let me into shows without paying cover charges as high as $40 in exchange for walking her dog and running errands for the club) I wanted to put what I call a "beershift" in my Tacoma about 5 years ago and she gave me one of these to get started...

Unfortunately, I didn't even bother to get it rethreaded to fit because my parents pretty much said "ABSOLUTELY NOT!"

I made $5 an hour under the table plus tips when I took a second job at as a delivery driver... at the same time I was making $10-$12.50 an hour at Puck, plus the cash I got for the Tacoma-dependent hauling jobs. For a guy with Asperger's who lives with his parents, or even one who has his own apartment, I made a FORTUNE in 2015.

I did the same thing with an '91 ranger and '03 ranger I had. I had a kenwood head unit, but I used the same adapter mount; except I put the pocket on the bottom.

My family also used to drive a blue '93 plymouth voyager. Those little vans were fun in the snow.

And you have heard how I'm strongly considered a career in the HVAC industry... This is how I knew so much about HVAC before I even started taking classes...

One thing about those of us with Asperger's is that our parents tend to be pretty freakin' awesome, and when their kids with AS make friends with AS, they have a better understanding of us than parents of our friends who don't have AS. Example, the heat pump at my best friend's parents' house died. The compressor seized and the unit was almost 12 years old... Not only did they decide to replace the whole system (heat pump, air handler, indoor coil, etc; NOT CHEAP...We're talking the price of a decent newer 1st gen Taco here), they didn't realize how little they knew about HVAC and put me in charge of making an $8,000 decision. They invited me over for dinner, showed me the quotes from different contractors, and after carefully comparing prices and options, I told them to get buy 16 SEER Bryant and that's what they bought less than a week later. On the day of the installation, I of course went over there and hung out with my friend, and I got to tear apart the dead heat pump before it was taken away by the guys who installed the new system...28373_1475229877966_1110026_n.jpg
