Hey guys, I want to add switches to the blanks shown in the photo (left of the Aux plug). I've found a bunch of information on how to do it to the left of the steering wheel (near the fuse box) or people that add their own switch panel somewhere on the center console. But i'd really just like to use these blanks. Thanks for any help! I don't quite have the confidence yet to start pulling stuff apart and plan to just figure it out.

I didn't bother pulling everything apart. I popped the blank out with a small pick, then fished a wire through the hole to under the driver's side of the dash. Then taped all the wires for my switch to that fished wire, and pulled them back through the hole. Plugged them into my switch, and popped it into the spot.

This is what I did to mine (2015). I have another switch for the right side going in. Pulled out blank, found center, drilled and cut.

I'm having the service done on the truck right now so I asked the guy what the part number is on the extra blanks in case I mess up or need a new one. He said it was 55539ae010c0 but I haven't really looked into it. The switches I have light up when they are on and fit in the spacing when the hood is flipped up. I haven't wired them up yet, but I'll need to dremel out a channel for the wiring because of the way the switch is.

I got these switches on eBay, 5 switches for $9 and they come in tons of colors. Same switch from like auto zone is $10 for one and I don't think it lights up. I went with the orange/Amber to match my CB radio colors. Eventually I'll have front and rear LEDs to each switch. I also gave a few to my buddy for his POS dodge and he loves the switches for his light bars.

But like racecarguy said, I just gently pried it out with a small screw driver. You have to remove a lot of stuff to remove that lower center piece.
