Woohoo! More hounds

 

Life is ruff. LOL. The basset is Molly and the lab is Macey. Both are great dogs.

 

Knock it off you two. I was at Starbucks having coffee...not a frap or a latte...but I started to lose my cool reading this and had to move out rather abruptly.

Our 15 year old 'end of life foster', as the rescue as termed him, has a vet appointment on the 15 of next month. Don't expect him to be coming home with us. He has a hard time getting up now. Mostly have to use his harness to help him. He takes a few unsteady steps on his own and falls due to his weak hind end. He'll pull you all over the place with his front legs though if you steady his back end for him. We're having some other age related issues as well that are really becoming quality of life issues, and we just don't want to make him have to hang on frustrated with his bodies limitations and in pain because we're to selfish to say it's okay to let go. I hate that it's coming down to this. Been through it far too many times in the last few years, but we can take comfort in the knowledge that after a lifetime of neglect, he had three years of warm beds, summers at the cottage, and a family to which he was a very loved, very valued member. We can only hope that we've made him feel as happy and loved as he's done for us.

Here he is this past Christmas, very tuckered after an exciting and busy day. Must be relaxed and content. We hadn't seen him be able to curl up in such a tight ball in over a year.

Not sure why she looks brown here because she's jet black except chest blaze and paws are white/salt n pepper.

so on sunday i saw my dog with something all wrapped around her. i asked my wife what she gave the dog and she said nothing. so now we're both running over to the dog to see what she has. turns out the dog found my wife's scarf in a laundry basket, took it to the bed, and then wrapped herself all up in it. Its hard to tell in the pic, but she is freakin wearing the scarf lol


Also caught her watching the tv last night.

got home from work and he kept rolling around on his back growlin like a crazy person and then settled down on my leg lol

 

Just sayin' "Please notice me."

I posted a while back about my dog not adjusting well to my new house. I now have taken in my sisters dog and they both do great. They get along better day by day and they both behave fine and no issues staying home all day while I work. I am so happy my best friend adjusted and loves this new home now.

I know how that goes. I have to put everything up some my puppy can't get it, including shoes, when I go to work. He finds something with my sent on it every day.

 

Are you kidding dude, your story is tearing me up and I am 54 friken years old. What a great friendship!!

 

Today is his first birthday.

His litter was known as the cookie jar.

 

It's a ruff life for a dog, couldn't stay up a minute longer.


But he wasn't quite comfy enough. Had to move to a new spot.
