Just went by my local toyota dealer and they had 2 super white tundra trd pros, no tacoma trd pros.

One was a crew cab, the other access or whatever you call it. Access had an msrp of about 43,300 and i think the double cab was about 45k.

That is about the same price as a tacoma trd pro and you get way more capability, and i am sure you can get more of a discount.

It is just so big though and just an overkill for me but may consider one at some point when i am ready to buy.

Tacoma Pro has a lot more for your money than the Tundra Pro, tundra pro is just some badging, grille, beside stamp, wheels and "upgraded suspension". Tacoma Pro has far better off-road capability but for doing truck things Tundra wins there.

Ah yeah forgot about that. Tacoma has the fox shocks while the tundra has bilstein shoks with remote reservoirs.

I wish the tundra trd pro had the black fender flares like the tacoma off road and pros have.

Will be interesting to see if they make any cosmetic changes to the new tundra trd pro in 2018. I know they had grill, lights and safety updates to them and added sport trim.

I was real close to opting for a Tundra over my Tacoma, price was almost the same, just couldn't justify the mpg and need for it.

It's amazing that tag, title, tax, delivery fees, finance fee, manager special sauce fee, etc... all this really adds up. Just the fees alone!

It seems like they could have worked with you a little more, at least on the fees if nothing else. A $48,000 truck by itself is close enough to $60K already (only $12,000 difference).

Back in the old days they would lure people into dealerships with "we'll cover your tag, title, and tax." I pulled this maneuver when I hit a wall in negotiations and I knew they wouldn't go lower on the deal I was trying to close on. It was a last ditch effort to nudge a little more off. Then again $1000 to me is significant money, and 10's of thousands of dollars makes my head cave in before it explodes.

Sounds like you got what you wanted the way you wanted it. Sometimes it costs a bit more to get exactly what you want in life. And this is America where anything is possible to obtain if you want it bad enough.

Id have no problem with a tundra TRD PRO if it was the size of a first gen with a manual, v6 is fine but 1UZ 4.8 V8 would be sweet. So essentially, a tacoma and we are back to square one.

I mean I get the point of a tundra crewmax with a short bed to get into a pissing contest with detroit, but Toyota has to realize they will never crack the fleet market where the big 3 get all their numbers from. In doing so, maybe, just maybe, they might ohIdontknow, downsize a little? The Tundra crew max I think has more interior space than an S class-- at some point, a floating barge that happens to have some offroad capabilities excels at really nothing. Except drinking gas like there is no tomorrow.

this is your bailout. you got the truck! you won't get back your money today, so move along and enjoy the thing. in a couple years you can get back maximum resale and be arguably sitting better than other used vehicle owners looking to sell. or run the wheels off it and be happy. what's done is done.

I think the tundra double cab 8 feet bed is the sweet spot

Looks best, unlike the fat hippo crew max

That's just stupid sorry but paying $20k over sticker for a Tacoma and it's not limited production it will be back next year. People who like to throw away money. To each their own.

Love that tactic. Almost brand new truck but they can't give you a trade in value over the phone/email. Be strong!

That must be a 2WD model sport you have. A 4x4 sport trade in is $31k in excellent condition according to kbb with 12,000 miles.

    https://www.kbb.com/toyota/tacoma-d...829031|false|6829042|true&condition=excellent

Of course dealerships only appraise your vehicle as in fair condition even if the truck is flawless. In fair condition, trade in is $27,760.

They did the kbb instant cash offer on my lease return to see if I had any equity in it and they showed me the paper stating my leased car 2014 Scion tC was worth $8,915 which was the low end value of fair condition. My lease was in mint condition too.

The dealership listed it for $13,250 the next week but claim the trade value was only $8,915. Dealerships are a joke.
