What's a good way to prep all the bolts that I'm going to have to take off?

Alright I'm on it! I'm going to buy a socket wrench breaker bar too for leverage.

PB blaster is awesome! Seems to work great! I hope it all works out and the install is easy. Tomorrow or Tuesday is the plan!

I ended up just doing it right and getting a 24" breaker bar when I got the PB blaster because I was SOL on the fronts trying to get the bolts off for an hour.

For the leafs I suggest coming in with them front to back (hehe), resting each on its belly on the axle and then rotating them onto the set pin. This works well for the 2nd gens. Not sure about the 1st. Also droop each side as much as possible using jack stands at different height setting. Be cautious of your ebrake line, brake lines, etc. And start spraying the snot out of those bolts with pb blaster now. Or if you want the good stuff, a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF makes pb blaster seem like water.

Thanks for this! I'm most definitely going to install using this method!

I also added this to my "buy" list today. Woot! https://www.amazon.com/Powertrax-9220803002-No-Slip-Traction-System/dp/B00IVQQQIA

It's a locker that essentially you install in your axel that is always locked. A lot of people use them for their towing rigs. Its the cheapest locker alternative. Unless I find a locked axel I want.

I heart my Powertrax No Slip!! Turning right in the rain sucks balls, treat it like you're pulling a trailer & give yourself a big gap....also cars behind you get impatient as you idle around the corner lol but fuck 'em they aren't there when your 2wd is going up hills like a mountain goat! As for the pin that you have to drive out.... I drove it out of the hole the "shorter" way and broke off the weld that retains it, nothing that JB Weld couldn't fix when I put the pin back in.
